bridget hayden of vibracathedral also played with them in london

and these claims of haphazard or poor musicianship are laughable, as anyone who has seen them live recently will be able to verify.

It's a tired argument applied to anyone really. Yngwie Malmsteen was probably one of the greatest guitarists ever to live, technically. Doesn't stop the music being crap. Comically crap, at least, but really quite crap. Give me the Shaggs over 'virtuoso' musicians any day of the week.

has he died or did you decide to already start working on his obituary?

from left to right: unknown bald guy, Paul Labrecque, Phil Franklin, John Moloney, Mick Flower (from Vibracathedral Orchestra), Ron Schneidermann, Mike K, Rob Thomas.

I imagine in Austria it would've been pretty much the same, except maybe without Paul Labrecque? At least he didn't play with them in the UK I think, so maybe just some dates in and around Belgium.

In Austria four guys were on stage. The three on the right and another dude i don't recall at the moment. Thanks!

jon boy 09.20.2006 04:12 AM

the guy on the left is gozzy the van driver and mick flower and mr franklin had to leave the tour becuase of work. so from then on it was only the four of them.

franklin went nuts on the drums in berlin. i was in fucking bliss.

Sure, why not, I'll probably be too busy when the time comes.

RdTv 09.20.2006 07:50 AM

There doesn't seem to exist anything in much larger quantities of cool than the ''Headdress LP''.

it would be easiest if we'd just declare him dead right now on and not ever speak of him again.

back to sunburned hand of the man, i recorded them twice last month and thanks to pjc both are now at dimeadozen:

Just want to inform you, that you may get a used t-shirt, if you buy one at one of their shows ...

sonicl 10.02.2006 03:50 AM

In retrospect I'd say they're one of the best LIVE bands right now, but their live brilliance doesn't really seem to translate all that well to the recorded medium.

Phlegmscope 10.02.2006 02:46 PM

One of the guys at the tampere gig mentioned that Headdress will be reissued at some point. It still is the best thing I've heard by them.

did you get one? how did you find out it was used?

i concur with soncl's last post. they're a great LIVE band, but definitely a lot less great on record.

sun city girl 10.03.2006 02:47 AM

yeah, better live than on record, "jaybird" is probably my fave or did i say this already...?

I think I can tell it from "discolorings" around the armpit area. It also has a small whole and the thing, where the size is mentioned is torn off. Of course this is not the end of the world ...

Gulasch Noir 10.03.2006 04:03 AM

double

maybe they were wearing their own merch shirts earlier throughout the tour to make room? fitting 7-8 band members in a van isn't easy!

sonicl 10.03.2006 05:27 AM

Oh no, they were definitely "pre-worn". They had things like Beatles t-shirts and college shirts that they'd screenprinted their logo over.

I thought it was cool - very much in keeping with the Sunburned aesthetic.

pokkeherrie 10.03.2006 05:40 AM

hehe... that would explain it.
sounds like a cool idea indeed.

Gulasch Noir 10.03.2006 08:01 AM

i wouldn't have problems with beatles t-shirts they had screenprinted their logos over ... The aforementioned "discolorings" is what i find a bit weird.

I wonder, if the one guy, that posted on the old board, is still posting here.

dnorsen 10.03.2006 08:14 AM

there is one cut on the ethan miller comp on bastet records. heavy out of this world shit... i hope to get my hands on some other stuff once john gets back to the states as we've been talking about me raiding the sunburned vaults for the last few months now. as for some one wondering if paul still posts on here, i think he still lurks but maybe you can get him to post. also dave has acc't but he told me he forgot the password...
