"bitches brew" apart from miles runs down the voodoo (that song is sick)
chelsea girl, the songs are soooo long with very little variation i love sister btw |
First post in over a year (and no, I've not been in the big house)...
Nevermind is pretty boring to me, in spite of it apparently being a "soundtrack to a generation" or some other b.s... Likewise, Radiohead's OK Computer (apart from Paranoid Android). |

Awwwww, maaaan... you guys are killin' me. |

I have to STRONGLY second this but I would remove "almost" |
zen arcade is a great fucking album
i really do hate anyone who doesn't realize this. |
Quote:
You hate people that don't like the music you like? That's kinda severe. But yeah- Zen Arcade is incredible. Not as good as New Day Rising, but incredible. Possibly the second most definitive and elemental album of 80's indie (next to you know what) |
Frank Zappa...
Oh dear God. B.O.R.I.N.G self conscious S.H.I.T to wank to. terrible terrible. Most of the Rolling Stones. Pink Floyd, although i do like a few things they did. probably loads more to come. |
Most records by the Jesus Lizard. Solid band but not incredible.
Pink Floyd-Piper at the Gates of Dawn, supposed to be their seminal hip cool record that music geeks all claim to love but its boring as fuck, also all of their other albums |
Only cunts hate people for not liking certain music.
|

me too |

i don't think daydream nation sucks but sister, evol and goo are indeed better! |
Quote:
I kind of agree. I haven't been able to really get into the rolling stones. I wouldn't say they suck though |
Dark Side of The Moon. Pass the Beano, please.
|
total troll thread
|
Obviously, people who like sonic youth and yet think that sister is crap are a very weird bunch indeed.

Hmm. I totally disagree, though I like every era of the Lips. Their most interesting albums are Priest Driven Ambulance, Zaireeka, Soft Bulletin, and Yoshimi, but every album has great moments. I think CTM was a big step for them musically. |
Quote:
Correct. Sister needs a makeover bad. It still rocks my nuts if I listen to it either on Vinyl or with really good headphones, but the whole thing is mixed too low, and subtle mastering changes could turn it into the goddamn Mona Lisa. |

QFT. Cunts and children. I did it when I was 14. It's evidence of a lack of developmental maturity. |
I don't like much of the Who beyond their debut. I'm okay with Pink Floyd through DSOTM but they bore me after that. Not too crazy about any Kinks, believe it or not. Led Zep is boring after the first four albums.
I never got into the Police much. There are a few other things, but I don't think anybody hates me for it. |
Oh my.
|
i always so no to the who.
|
The Soft Bulletin, I really dont understand that one. Or the way people love The Flaming Lips in general.
|
Quote:
I just watched some special on the making of Bulletin by Pitchfork. Made me want to listen. Love the Lips. LOVE! :) |

You, sir, are a good man. ~Jeremy~ |
Quote:
That's a genuine surprise |
yeah, all bar early who sucks (especially their Rock! era), Kinks have a few good songs but plenty of meh
dont get the Smiths, Ramones, fuck me i hate the manic street preachers, RHCP, pink floyd loads. i hate lots of things, but no one hates me for it because no one i know likes good music. |
also, i bought a Cat Power album the other day (you are free) and while its not exactly thought of as classic Cat Power is thought of as pretty good (even Lee said so)
but it was pretty bland. except maybe 2 songs it was pretty dull |
Quote:
I've found that a lot of Matador stuff that's thought of as good is bland. That album was a favorite of mine when it first came out, and I think I'd still probably cry if I heard "I don't blame you", but yeah it is kind of mediocre. |
Quote:
|
I hate every album that ever came out, especially the ones that you love the most.
|
Quote:
With Cat Power, start here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-omWlUVIA4 If you don't like this song, you don't like Cat Power. If you do, check out the following songs: 1. Rockets 2. Itchyhead 3. We All Die 4. Ice Water 5. Bathysphere 6. American Flag 7. Metal Heart 8. Cross Bones Style 9. I Don't Blame You 10. Free 11. Speak For Me We all know that Steve Shelley and Tim Foljahn play on her first two records [Dear Sir and Myra Lee], right? |
Beatles
Bob Dylan Flaming Lips Chemical Brothers Swedish band Kent (more like "cunt" to me) Also back in the days i held a deep indifference towards british bands blur and oasis. How these two bands wound up in some sort of mutual dislike towards each other was even more profoundly incomprehensible. How can you call something shit when you're shit epitomized yourself? The list goes on |

I can't really get into the Beach Boys either. I like them, but only for about 5 minutes at a time. |
Quote:
Never heard that one. |
Dummy by Portishead, although i havent tried listening to it in quite a long time.
Sebadoh III, a "classic" indie rock album. I bought the reissue more than 5 years ago and ive still never been able to get beyond 8 or 9 songs in a row without wanting to listen to someone else. Im not sure theres ever been an album ive paid full price for and listened to so little. Actually if someone in the London area wants to buy that off me do let me know. |
Quote:
Ah, I don't get that at all! III is my favorite, along with harmacy! |
I hate Eric Clatpon and everything he's ever done, Cream or no Cream.
Except for that song from "the Color of Money" lol! |
Pavement sucks.
|
Zeppelin never did much to me.
|
^much better than Zeppelin.
fucking LUV Paranoid & Master of Reality. |
