nothing?

my top 10 fav Weezy songs (freestyles not included).. can't imagine anyone not turning into a fan if they heard them.
Something You Forgot Receipt Feel Me Grown Man Mr. Carter Dr. Carter Comfortable Tie My Hands Shoot Me Down A Milli |
damn, his techniques were so insane back in the day.. he used to just go on ANY type of beats and MURDER it.
i've been a fan for years and still explore his discography & find new stuff from time to time.. he's got tons of obscure records i had never known of, like Lil Weezy Ana & that Young Money tape with Mack Maine and Curren$y. |
yeah both of those tapes were good.
|
No Ceilings was sick. he would silence all the haters if he just randomly dropped another tape like that again.
|
I loved No Ceilings. That tape was amazing man.
|
IMO it was the last GREAT thing he's done.
but i still enjoy some of his new stuff, for instance 6 Foot 7 Foot & John. |
yeah No Ceilings is definitely the last high water mark for me. I'll agree with that.

this song is still the shit. *$tunna's hand rub* BELIEE DAT |
C2 is generally considered to be his best crafted work and i can't disagree with that.. but IMO C3 reaches higher peaks.
without all the leaks it would've been an undisputable classic like The Blueprint, Doggystyle, etc. but either way it's still a great compilation of club bangers/radio hits. even if it came out this year, it'd still shit on every other album. |

C2 is my favorite. "That Mobb" is insane cuz it's just straight rapping for the full 5 mins. No chorus, and just that bass-heavy chugging slow beat. I love it. |

awesome dude. Yeah he's one of those that the singles are pretty different from the albums. |
for NR & everybody: Drake talking about his fav Weezy verse..
dude almost shed a tear from the excitement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJlAYOeGaV4 ![]() |

I think I'll give him another listen.
Someone tell me honestly- has any of the post-CIII stuff been worth listening to? I kind of liked "Sorry 4 tha wait" (or whatever it's called)... is it worth my time? |
Sorry 4 Tha Wait is pretty weak. No Ceilings is WAAAAAAAY better.
forever, I'm really glad you like C2. It's definitely one of my favorite hip hop albums ever. |

a new Dre track (obviously ghostwritten by Em.. the GOOD type of Em). fucking sick. and the anticipation for Detox continues.. |

Don't tell me Detox is the anticipated title of the next Em abortion. |

Da Drought 3 and The Drought Is Over 2 are both incredible. But nothing beats Dedication 2. |

I'm really glad you were open to check it out then. :) |
IMO DD3 was his rapping peak. but D2 was incredible too.
as i said, both are classic mixtapes. Wayne was the last guy who was actually good at rapping over other people's beats, nobody else should. i have a zip with like 100 leaked songs from the C3 recording sessions. PM me if you're interested. |
Quote:
dude is such a perfectionist.. both of his albums were unbelievable, so ridiculously ahead of their time & influential. |
Quote:
I have sooo many C3 era mixtapes. I'm sure I've heard it all. :) |
Hey, can someone- maybe louder or noisereductions- compile a list of everything Wayne's put out since his solo career started, highlighting the releases that are the best? Which are mixtapes, albums, etc?
I could do this on my own of course, but I don't care enough. If an SY fan were to break everything down for me, I'd be more inclined to follow recommendations. It seems to me that the guy's released a veritable shit-ton of music, and I can't keep it straight. |

so, Little Wayne.. what's yr motivation? :)
|
No disRASpect NR my brotha, but dude, I may be attempting pages of discussions examining the theology of Tupac Shakur on OC.net/forum however I am baffled at how Lil Wayne can generate 6 pages and a 1000 views

up yo game and find the Makaveli bootlegs, the underground Tupac more accurately reflects totality of his art. The radio cuts are not as enlightening unless they are taken in the context of his full discography. In regards to my comments about Lil Wayne, I was trying to say that perhaps I was pushing too much substance into Tupac's music, however with Lil Wayne, I wonder if there is ever any substance to speak of in the first place hence my surprise that this thread can honestly be so long... |
