i'll look for news

demonrail666 03.19.2017 01:30 PM

Was an entertaing game in the end, but not a great one. Loads of missed chances for both sides and neither team seem to want to defend. Right now, Klopp and Pep look like two managers who are only winning anything because they both have some very good players able to get them out of trouble.

!@#$%! 03.19.2017 01:34 PM

oh, they tied in the end! a pity.

bayern won of course lol. just 1-0 but nice game by gladbach who fought hard.

so what's up with kloppo? running out of ideas?

I dunno. Some pundits say the players are knackered cos of Klopp's hard pressing style but I'm not sure. Whatever it is they're nowhere near where they were before Christmas. Really, Chelsea, Spurs and Everton have been the only teams playing consistently well this season.

!@#$%! 03.19.2017 01:54 PM

knackered sounds about right. ive said this many times, his ideal player age is 17 to 22. after that--to the glue factory

demonrail666 03.19.2017 02:31 PM

Meanwhile on planet Pep, in the press conference just now, he described Man City's performance as one of the best in his managerial career.

Holy shitballs, holy shitballs, World Cup qualifiers alert: Uruguay vs Brazil and Argentina vs Chile tomorrow!

A scam and a sham! By the way, when you consider the World Cup will have 48 teams in 2026, you look at the South American table and think, "Shit, well what more could these countries possibly want?!". I say turn the fifth spot into a straight ticket to the Cup, and that's IT. You can't reward countries who finish below the middle of the goddamn table. Find your extra 16 teams elsewhere!

i can think of many teams from asia and oceania and the caribbean and even europe who would finish well beyond the bottom of that table.

it's all about how tables are defined. uefa has nearly 50 members with every microrepublic and principality claiming a spot .

one federation for all of the americas should work well. the problem with conmebol is that it's so small. they cant even have a proper tournament and have to invite jamaicans and mexicans and others to fill up the brackets.

demonrail666 03.22.2017 08:10 PM

OK, so Germany beat England 1-0. I'm often quick to criticise England, even if they win, but they weren't bad tonight, and the result felt a bit harsh. Alli missed a massive chance. It was a friendly but both teams were competitive (although a few unknown German names (to me at least). The 3-man defence looked good and Vardy looked OK, although Kane will obviously walk straight back in when hes fit. Not jumping to any premature conclusions but definitely a lot better than 90% of what I saw under Hodgson.

!@#$%! 03.22.2017 10:08 PM

who were the germans you didnt recognize and who is yr new coach? i know i could google but that's no fun

demonrail666 03.23.2017 05:20 PM

There were a few I don't know. Brandt; Weigl; Werner?

Re our new coach: Gareth Southgate. Worked his way up through the under 21s route. Bit of a boring, 'safe' appointment but in hindsight, I'm not sure who I would've had instead (who'd realistically want it). I'm becoming quietly optimistic, not that we'll suddenly become world beaters but that we might actually move forward a bit with him. I can see him relating well to the players and he just seems pretty competent all round.

This generation of players is decent. Not so good as to attract the kind of hype that the 'golden generation' got and which probably helped ruin them. Plus there's no old guard to accommodate now. Maybe Hart but he'll hopefully be replaced by Forster soon. Rooney definitely seems finished. Kane, Alli, Walker, Shaw, Dier: none of them are world class but they are very good and I've seen worse teams progress further than we usually manage. We just need a break in a big tournament.

!@#$%! 03.23.2017 05:40 PM

oh man, timo werner is rb leipzig's star forward-- germany's jaime vardy, but young

weigl plays at dortmund, really good midfielder--small, light, smart, and very mobile, sort of a made-for-pep player. young too. he should go far.

brandt is a babyface (my wife calls him "hitler youth") who plays i think for leverkusen. he's okay but not great as i recall. the most notable thing about him is his face lololol.

The Soup Nazi 03.23.2017 05:48 PM

Fucking James (Xamez) scored at the 83rd minute and Colombia beat Bolivia 1-0. Now they're in third place! This is bullcrap!

Most likely (I didn't watch the game, I was only following the score online) Bolivia unashamedly parked the bus... for 83 minutes. Games are 90'+, motherfuckers!

The Nazi is trying to show he's just one of the guys, but he's not, he's a internet NAZI!!!

Don't do it!! We've been hurt too many times. Like the idea that THIS time this relationship might work out. Few weeks later BAM! she's moving onto the next thing.

demonrail666 03.24.2017 02:51 PM

Yeah, I know. All I'm saying though is they look decent, which they do. I'm not expecting trophy winning success but at the same time we've all seen teams win those trophies who no one would consider any more than decent, either in terms of the players or their coach. I mean in the last Euro's final, did Portugal and France really represent a level of quality that's beyond our current crop of players? This is less about Southgate and more about me just thinking we've got to be due a bit of luck by soon, surely.

_tunic_ 03.27.2017 11:45 AM

any volunteers here to become the new coach for the Dutch national team? We need some new blood.

demonrail666 03.27.2017 03:26 PM

Bet they're kicking themselves for turning down Ronald Koeman when he was interested in the job after Van Gaal. Now I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being Van Gaal again.

!@#$%! 03.27.2017 03:54 PM

im sorry i dont follow eredivisie but who was the coach or feyernood or how you spell it? didn't they win a lot lately?

eta: feyenoord

demonrail666 03.27.2017 04:12 PM

Giovanni Von Bronckhorst. I'd say he's a bit young. He probably wants to see how far he can go at club level first, especially as he seems to be doing quite well at Feyenoord.

!@#$%! 03.27.2017 04:18 PM

i don't know him, but that's a great name

what is van gaal doing now anyway? maybe he went to china?

He said he was retiring. Only for the next day to say that wasn't right.

demonrail666 03.28.2017 01:26 PM

I'll bet his wife had a couple of weeks of him moping around at home before ordering him back into management. I can't see him being the easiest person to live with.

i was just reading about all the people who hate him. i had no idea!

lololol

demonrail666 03.29.2017 03:24 AM

The guy's an egomaniac who seems to make enemies everywhere he goes. Although (Man U aside) you can't knock his record for winning things.

demonrail666 03.29.2017 06:09 AM

Looks like the Alexis Sanchez to Chelsea rumour is getting stronger and stronger.

Him, Hazard and Costa (Not Lukaku as he's going nowhere)? Jesus wept.
