Oh, god. This party's terrible. That's why I'm posting. We had an argument and people were comparing Mastodon's new stuff to Sonic Youth's entire career. I am really not getting along with these people.

I found out that my tape recorder's NOT BUSTED! So, I've been workin' on a noise tape, that I will probably make a few copies of to give to some friends. :)

A friend of mine was listening to SY yesterday, and was told that SY is a "hard core punk" band... I was told of this, and told her to tell this dude that he's a fucking moron.

I think all his albums are great. His concepts are always interesting.

hahaha, that's retarded. They have more rap songs that hardcore punk songs. These people at my friend's party really annoy me musicwise.

exactly! I just had a horrible time. And my ex was there making out with some guy, which made it way worse. And there's a metalhead beside me which I won't talk to. Other than if it's a party/ show, I usually don't get along with the people. Often if they're into the same music as me, I'll get along with them much, much smoother

I always talk to people wheter or not they have the same taste as me. I like hanging out with the gays, straights, smart dumbasses, religios, atheists, so forth. I just like meeting people who have a different taste than me. It gives me something stimulating to do. Like debate, find common ground, so on.

That's good! I'm in one of my good friend's circles right now, so I don't really know anybody and don't feel comfortable, so I'm the quiet guy that just sits back on the couch on a laptop. I really don't have many too many people that I really like anymore even. I don't get along with my friends completely, but maybe I'm just being too picky

I don't even go to parties. I'm anti-social, a hermit, I have like, 3 friends. I'm socially awkward, and am far too much of a music-snob to make friends easily if they aren't into good music. Shiiiiiit.

I used to be like that steve. But that faded away when i started college, and I just started to talk to people and became more comfortable with it.

Really? That's a good way of putting it. A lot of the people I talk to have their own opinions against my tastes, but aren't willing to discuss why they like what they do, and why they don't like mine. If they could do that then I'd be all good with it. I always have long religion conversations with my friends that are Jahova witnesses though, they're really enjoyable! It's just when I talk to people about music I find they often use far too many fallacies in their arguments and have bias opinions

i find it's easier to just not talk about music. it's too personal and subjective a topic to discuss.

It is really fun talking to religious people. most of the time I beat them.

I like talking to religious people, but I always offend them, and they refuse to continue. Can't face the truth, bastards... Maybe this is why I don't make friends. Hahhaha.

Same. I used to be really social until I got really involved in activism and underground music, and I started disagreeing with a lot of things my friends were doing. I don't mind people with less educated music tastes as long as they can talk about it without outright being "THAT BAND SUXZORS"

Take care steve and vic. And yeah, I enjoy talking to religeous people. I know a lot of them that were just...bad people before but then they found religion, and now they're good, so I'm careful not to contrast their views entirely

i wish some of the less savory characters i knew could find religion or just some direction so much.

I'm religious, and I enjoy talking to myself; I always seem to be there, ready to lend myself a sympathetic ear. When I'm not talking with myself, I find that God is an excellent listener also.

I quite like talking to non-religious people too though. I spoke to one today as a matter of fact.
