|
i'm feeling good. went bowling tonight and drove around playing my harlem shakes cd. how are you?
|
Well, no harlem shakews but harlem drunk. Thats not really slang or a term but i feel like sying it and for some fucked yp reason i feel like listening to old modest mouse.
Yes. im drunk. |
Hey duuuudes. I've never heard these Harlem Shakes... somebody provide me with a link or something!
Jade, when's Ted Leo?? *I'll be back in a few minutes* |
nick- put on the moon and antarctica. when i'm kinda under the influence i like putting that on.
steve- hey! http://www.myspace.com/harlemshakes is their link. they are gah, so awesome. all of them were the sweetest guys (i met them when they opened for deerhoof). they are also awesome live. ted leo is next sunday. |
He moves just like crisco disco
Breath 100% listerine He says looking at something else But directing everything to me Every time anyone gets on their knees to pray well it makes my telephone ring And i'll be damned |
ok,.exuse me evertone. i kinda forgot this band existed until i put this song on and holy fucking shit i cantbelive it rikght now.
|
oh i love that song
|
Me too, it reminds me of too many things to even explain. I think modesnt mouse, besides sonic youth, was one of the first bands to actually gret me interestd in music as a hobby and whatnot. And thank god for these early recordings, theyre fucknig fantastic.
|
yeah, they did it for me too. there's this moment right during "i came as a rat" towards the end of the song that is so perfect that made me fall in love with them. then lonesome crowded west is amazing.
|
Yes! that and long drive are my absolute favorite.
|
i can't listen to custom concern without getting kind of teary. that whole album is a gut punch. i really hope i can drive all night to it some day..
fuck, i have to unplug the computer this evening. our new carpet and tile are being laid down.. i'm going to go nuts not being able to be online. until we get a new computer stand my poor baby will be sat unplugged in the kitchen. |
Me too!! But i cant dirve fro a year yeytt..dammit.
|
aw :(
i don't think i'll ever actually own a car, now that i think about it. the husband will. |
I'm back. These Harlem Shakes dudes are pretty fucking awesome! I'm diggin' it.
And I have a craving for some Moon + Antartica, so thanks! I'm gonna put that on now. Sad Sappy Sucker is such a fucking great album. |
Yeah it is, with those solo isaac tracks. I love it.
|
steve- all i've listened to this week is their ep over and over. it's perfect.
i have a craving for my bloody valentine. |
Yeh, the wierdo Dial-A-Song tracks. Sooo cool.
Fuck, 3rd Planet (and all of TM+A) Makes me want to cry... so nostalgic, reminds me of maybe my favourite part of life. It's weird when you totally don't expect anything means anything at one point, and you realize later how much it meant, and how badly you wish you could like... go back... |
MMn...loveless. I'm in love with them......

i know that feeling all too well. which reminds me of the night i bought arcade fire's funeral and played it in the car and my gran said that it was a beautiful cd. ok, loveless on my brother's headphones is one of the greatest things i've ever heard. and these headphones came with the four dollar cd player. good night nick :) |
Dude, Funeral is the exact same way as TM+A... retardedly nostaligc, and really hard for me to listen to without feeling really shitty. But I do it, and I do it lots. One sign of a great album, it reminds you of a specific time + place.
|
yeah, i can't make it through a modest mouse album without feeling a few levels of shittiness. same with cat power.
oh indeed. when i think of daydream nation i think of three different situations where all i could feel was that music at that second. my friend has my copy of funeral and that just makes me really sad. but i have neon bible. |
Neon Bible is jaw-droppingly good man.
I didn't know what to expect, but I think I like it almost as much as Funeral. |
sup?
|
something keeps me from loving it a little less than funeral, but i still think keep the car running is just flat-out perfect.
|
hey victor!
|
I agree about KTCR, and obviously since Funeral is just so... well, nostalgic, and such a touching thing for me, Neon Bible can't touch it in that sense, but musically, soooo good. Like you say, Keep the Car Running is... wow.
Heey, Vic. What's up bro? |
I am bored.
|
Sounds not too wicked. Why don't you throw a birthday-bash?
|
Cause, my imaginary friends might get jealous if I throw a party for someone real.
|
well, we're here.
i am having some wine and i wish spring break was a bit longer. |
Quote:
Better yet, think of throwing a party. Plan the party out in yr head, you have $2300 to spend. Consider everything, and plan the party down to the minute! DO IT! Kills boredom like I kill humans. |
Oh I want to do something. I am hungry, but too lazy to go to get something to eat. Get in my car, go get food and come back. Ah it seems like a hassle.
|
yeah, plan a party! i like planning out food and how i'll present it. if you throw a party, invite me.

I'm back at school... ugh. I have the Literacy test the day after the Blood Brothers show. So, go up the morning of, leave it at around 12 (?) whenever it ends... four-hour drive home about, leaving almost no time for sleep (except in the car...) YIKES! |
