Hi samuel.
Danny: I was there about ten days ago. The techno/rap etc section had hardly any cd's in it. I wonder if they're cutting down on that sort of thing. |
You know my name!

Detective instinct.
How are you? I like your avatar. |
I reckon they are. I doubt any techno/rap types visit there, to be honest. To me, it's always been a sort of grown-up music shop- paired with Hairy Records on Bold Street. Rap and Techno vinyl can be easily found in Virgin Records anyways.
|
I mean the Aphex Twin - Warp - type of thing. The rap stuff was always the underground stuff.
Whenever I go in, they have something really good on the turntable that I've never heard. I got some old Gaye Bykers on Acid and Stupids EP's in Hairy recently. |
I'm reallyyyy bored, of course. That's why I'm posting.
How about yourself, how are you doing? |
There's always a good find in Hairy Records.
|
My internet connection went all crap for ten minutes there.
samuel: I'm OK, thank you. Danny: They've got some good stuff I might buy in future. |

Yep, pink with a thin black lining on some sides, for shadow... |

welcome to my club FN! ;)

We were talking about the record stores in Liverpool. SO ANYWAY..
|
Probe used to be in a different location, perhaps it's called Button Street. Anyway, it's some hideous trendy clothes store now (Ted Baker or something). It was a good location - I think they only moved to Slater Street because of the Palace thing being there, but that's gone now. They used to sell tons of fanzines.
There was another place just behind the old shop that also sold records, there was a really good little one in the Acorn Arcade (now called something else, but just off Renshaw Street - I bought all my Nephilim records there). |
You can still get some free zines and posters in Probe.
|
Not many though. They used to stock loads. Blogs and messageboards are replacing fanzines, I think. Do you look in the reduced box? I sometimes buy an CD I've never heard of from there for £3. The Sermon's LP is a favourite.
|
Nah, I usually just look at the usual priced stuff. I'm silly.
|
Have you checked the used record guy in Quiggins? He sometimes has some OK stuff. It's not Quiggins anymore, is it? Grand Central now, I think. Much better were it is. I love it in there now.
|
Yeahhh it's in that building that used to be the Barcelona Bar. I haven't been inside yet. The largely emo customer populace repels me.

How are my favorite boardmembers doing?
