I used to wear suits when I worked as an auditor to work every day, and believe me, it makes a hell of a difference when you like go to a bank or to some office to take care of something, the people just treat you in a 100% different way.

which is quite shitty, in my opinion.

They were groomsmen and I was not. They are slightly closer friends with the groom, I guess. I was not offended by not being asked to be a groomsman--you can only have so many. But I didn't make much effort to dress up. I should have worn a different shirt and a tie, maybe. Here's me later at the reception after a few drinks, with untucked shirt, hamming it up with the bride and a friend's girlfriend:
