Пятхъдесят Шест,
Im not talking SYRs, im talking about Thurston Moore's Cotton Museum split 12" and Lee Ranaldo's Text of Light project. But I have no idea about what to comment about your post because its really incoherent so.... heres a cool video of corgan in rome for anyone interested... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ezc2...billy%20corgan |

I think people are unduly critical of Billy Corgan. The reason he played most of the parts of Siamise dream is because the rest of the band just weren't interested. I think his "whine" is something you either love or hate, much like Kim Gordon's voice (Ive heard people tell, me they would like sonic youth, but Kim's voice is to grating). For me his voice on all of the albums really makes the music work.

i think this is great news, they are one of those bands that ive always wanted to see live, and now if they tour i will get to. YAY!!!!!

I try not to let the reasons get in the way of enjoying what they are doing. I'm sure Billy wants some money but we know it can't be the only reason because he isn't exactly poor. He obviously wanted the Smashing Pumpkins back. ^^ I've wanted to see them live too. I got into them (the very first band I started listening to because the name sounded like a mean metal bands name to me) around 2002. A year to late, not that my parents would have let me go anyway. |
HAHA I'm trying to pick a fight, honestly. I just can't get past Billy starting and abandoning projects after no one pays attention. Do you think if his solo career would have taken off he would need to bring back the pumpkins?
|
No he wouldn't have. But that might be because he was busy with a solo project.
|
I dont think billy would have made so many B-sides if he were soley in it for the money. He made some pretty good tunes for a while too. THey were just a band that had to die.
|
SP were very prolific at their peak.
I'm talking about now. |
SYG has umpteen Smashing Pumpkin threads, so no reason to start a new one. Highly doubt this is something I’ll attened, but a few Smashing Pumpkin fans may enjoy this news.

Wait, again? Didn’t they just half-reunite for a lame-ass tour nobody went to? |

Cheers! Watching live footage of the recent tour, they sound super impressive. I remember reading that they made an effort to rehearse so that they were playing true to the albums, rather than reinterpreting and improvising. The new material is fine, but goes off live https://youtu.be/7ckxo9rT3oI |

If it were true in 2006, it probably still works today......except The Cure’s 2016 North America Tour had a different setlist EVERY NIGHT!!! Also, they only played -Friday I’m In Love- three times: ElPaso, Boise & one of two nights in Chicago. If the Pumpkins were to do something like that, it would be much easier for me to purchase a ticket and go. Quote:
I enjoyed the youtube vid......they might make a go if this tour, it could also fold up like a tent after a couple of cities. Believed I shared this somewhere on here once before......3-4 years ago my cousin was in downtown New Brownsville’s, Texas taking some photos/video of her Jr High/High School aged daughters. Billy was also downtown shooting with a handheld and they struck up a brief conversation. Billy was documenting small town America for some projects he was working on......do any of you know what that ended up being? |

The tour has been a success so far, I've been following on Instagram and even had Billy answer a couple of my questions in QandA sessions. Lots of sold out dates. Not sure about 3-4 years ago, but last year Billy was going around small town areas in what I assume is the Midwest??? (I'm Australian) just documenting historical things and performing acoustic tunes. Maybe that was an early iteration of that? https://youtu.be/6x5_UF7I7qw |
