I find it a bit weird that many people here who can listen to some really difficult music can't stand Dylan :D

It also surprises me how many people pick Blood on the Tracks or Desire. When I think of Dylan, I think of the mid-1960s albums. Dylan post 1969 is Dylan-lite. At least to my ears.

as I pointed out before, everyone does dylan better then dylan. fantastic song writer, terrible performer.

I don't agree. Dylan's fantastic in performance, as well. Check out the live 1966 footage and music.

he just bores the shit out of musically.
his songs also bore the shit out of me.
after every lyric I want to say to him, "so what?"

That's bullshit.

Jimi did a few cool covers, but they weren't better than the original. If you do think that, then that's ok, lets not go on about it.

I think you'll find the Dead cover was with Dylan actually in the band.

umm no. Did you see dylan in that clip? Was Dylan playing with Ratdogg last year when they did desolation row and baby blue? the dead covered Dylan all the time, over a period of 40 years, and dylan only played with them on two tours, long after they had began covering his tunes. in fact, dylan only played with the dead to boost his own touring career, he was using them to get access to their audience, cuz he could never sell that many tickets on his own, not in 86-87.

yes, they were actually. what part of the picture of Emperor Theodore II of Ethiopia, who shot himself to death, did not promote the seriousness of my claim?

I would be perfectly fine with a 45 containing "Masters Of War" on one side and "The Ballad Of Hollis Brown" on the other. I'd be pretty much set for life for Dylan there, as these are pretty much the only two songs of his I would voluntarily listen to for enjoyment in my own home.

Can someone please upload the song Sara from Desire for me, please?

I have Desire on vinyl and I want to put it on a mix for someone special to me, but don't have it in digital form.

The Soup Nazi 02.10.2008 09:01 PM

It's so weird to think that John Wesley Harding was the album after Blonde on Blonde.

I know too much to argue or to judge.
