I had a harder time composing this list than the all-time list. So much shit to choose from for this decade.

Hah.
I don't feel like I've done anything worthy of a greatest album spot. Yet. |
for the ten greatest albums, i actually tried to choose the best. but for this list i chose my favorite. if i was choosiing best then i would exchange dellilah, electrelane and liars for someone else, like sun O))) maybe goslings and something else...
and i was suprised to see no boris on your list |
My fav Boris albums came out in 1996, 1998, and ... oh, okay, 2000. I guess I could have put Flood on there actually, you're right. Didn't think it was a 2000 album.
|
Boris - Flood
maudlin of the Well - Bath Kayo Dot - Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue John Frusciante - Curtains Richard Youngs - Sapphie Six Organs of Admittance - School of the Flower A Silver Mount Zion - "This Is Our Punk Rock" blah blah blah Animal Collective - Prospect Hummer Blonde Redhead - Misery Is A Butterfly William Basinski - Melancholia i dunno |
Thanks to all that have sent votes so far! (thanks to you Trasher, since you have no PM space left :D)
The top is clearly taking shapes, it really has surprises, some albums I would not have expected. Still taking votes of course... |
Bump!
|
Derek, I don't know if Prospect Hummer qualifies as an album. It's just a little EP.
You know what I forgot? The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? Fucking classic. |
Still taking votes!
(yep, a shameless bump before going to bed) |
I hate doing this, because I'm sure I'll forget something I love, but what the hell...
1) Sonic Youth - NYC Ghost & FLowers 2) Legendary Pink Dots - The Poppy Variations 3) Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You 4) Jandek - Worthless Recluse 5) Sonic Youth - Sonic Nurse 6) Einsturzende Neubauten - Silence is Sexy 7) Black Happy Day - In the Garden of Ghostflowers 8) Melvins - Electroretard 9) Autechre - Quaristice 10) Sun City Girls - Superculto |
Worthless Recluse is soooooo fucking good.
One of the most frightening albums I've ever heard somehow as well. |

Yeah, not too likely to make the big list, but I couldn't possibly overlook it nonetheless. It was so awesome when it came out, like the total fuck you answer to all the people who said, "He couldn't possibly get more primitive..." Why yes, he could. |

melvins - nude with boots cursive - the ugly organ radiohead - hail to the thief feist - the reminder dillinger escape plan - ire works the big sleep - sleep forever fugazi - the argument and you will know us by the trail of dead - worlds apart battles - mirrored |
