Might be the "eye" of the storm, so to speak.

floatingslowly 09.13.2008 11:47 AM

the eyewall didn't hit until 2:10 am in Galveston.

4 million are without power (for up to two weeks they say) and thanks to flooded sewage treatment plants they are stuck with bottled water.

all in all it doesn't look that bad on the news though.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 09.13.2008 03:30 PM

I HAS POWER AND WATER
WOoooooOOooo!

Going to go jet skiing on the bayou later if we are allowed

greedrex 09.13.2008 03:31 PM

No, it was fucking BAD
Downtown is fucking destroyed from what I hear
There is glass everywhere and debris
80% of Houston is without power
etc.etc.etc.

I'm just ballin' out of control

you lead a charmed life. congrats on not getting Tina Turnered.

even though you have water, you might consider boiling it first. I would. but then again, I don't like drinking poop.

I have loads and loads and loads of water bottles

viewtiful_alan 09.14.2008 02:13 PM

I finally was able to get on a friend's computer.
My house got fucked over. Tree hit the roof. FUCk...

davenotdead 09.14.2008 04:07 PM

that sucks alan. i know if a hurricane ever hits over here that a tree will likely kill some portion of my house.

gmku 09.14.2008 07:12 PM

Power is still on here, still have drinking water, too.

Thank God. We were spared.

viewtiful_alan 09.14.2008 09:12 PM

I'm so happy for you...

Cantankerous 09.14.2008 09:19 PM

i wonder if people will ever learn that they need to get the fuck off the coast if they don't want to be hit by a hurricane.

terriblecanyons 09.14.2008 09:21 PM

cantank: nope.

Cantankerous 09.14.2008 09:22 PM

every year would flood in the midwest and on the news it's always the same goddamn people floating away on their couch. idiots.

viewtiful_alan 09.14.2008 10:05 PM

We weren't gonna flood that was pretty obvious, we just knew there would be some wind and rain.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 09.15.2008 12:29 AM

My areas pretty legit
I even went to the Houston Country Club to hang out in the sauna
Had some margaritas with some buddies

I have 8 of my friends from the River Oaks/Montrose area staying over because they don't have power out there
Supposedly 75% of Houston is still without power
And it will be another 3 weeks until EVERYONE has power
Some people got power back today, some yesterday
So that's good

Good luck to eveyrone out there

floatingslowly 09.15.2008 09:10 AM

have we heard from Rob or Bytor?

sounds like Bytor's place might have been hit pretty hard (although I know they evacuated).

doesn't Rob work downtown??

ps crypto: enjoy yr 9pm curfew, playa'. :p

viewtiful_alan 09.15.2008 10:29 AM

Our powerlines started working again, then caught fire.
So who knows...
