hipsters had style in the mid to late 60's. that's the only style i care about.

ditto.

'emo' now is some bastard child of glam/goth and hardcore/candy punk. i mean really wtf.

pbradley 03.05.2009 01:34 AM

Same shit, different scenery.

The closest thing you'll get to immortality is backing out of this kind of aesthetic dialectic.

uhler 03.05.2009 12:58 PM

those two bands had style in the early 90's.

hell, the afghan whigs and urge overkill had mad style a decade or more before everyone started wearing crisp suits on stage and drinking martinis.
and they got mad grief for it too, from the punk punk crusties that so loved the thrift store "grunge" thang

i wish i could post pictures of the make-up because they, by far, had the best style of any band in the nineties. but they were mid to late nineties.

Proposition: If you've never looked back on an outfit and thought 'what the fuck was I thinking?', you've never had, and will never have, style.

This is directed at everyone who still thinks that grunge is a 'classic look' (NB - if you're not Cobain or a certain sort of girl, you look shit).

That's a really good outfit in my book. I'm no fashion victim, but I like watching people who dress with peculiar style. There you go Rob, what would you make of that, then?

Savage Clone 03.05.2009 03:04 PM

Rob works in an office and thinks J Mascis is cool.
This means he's in the wrong thread.
