agreed wholeheartedly. i was watching them do the diamond sea and sunday on letterman a couple days ago on youtube . . . thurston was so bloody flat it was almost painful. you definitely notice the difference nowadays.

radio show was reena, incinerate, jams run free, rats, what a waste, lights out, and do you believe in rapture, not in that order though.

krastian 06.17.2006 12:02 AM

Yeah the sound was really clean.

The world needs to see Mark Ibold on tv! They should've let him play bass and had Kim do some slide guitar stuff instead.

no chapel hill at the radio gig. i'm gonna put up a full review tomorrow of that and the 2 other dc and philly shows. some amazing experiences.

funny, there was a girl behind us at the early dc show who was quite adamant on hearing chapel hill. bwaha.

krastian 06.17.2006 12:17 AM

Chapel Hill has been one of my favorites since I started listening to them. I've pretty much just accepted the fact that I will probably never hear it or Wish Fullfillment.

i had to go to sy fans anonymous to deal with the fact i will never hear starpower live, you know.

Laila 06.17.2006 12:22 AM

my brother told me he saw sy on mtv recently. i couldn't believe it, but it's possible cause of the new album comming out. but i doubt they were on there intentionally. probably just some people mentioning them or something.

luxinterior 06.17.2006 12:24 AM

I remember MTV using The Empty Page and Sunday as background music for some of their shows...like Made. Yeah, I watch it.

Laila 06.17.2006 12:25 AM

oh i think i saw that made where they used sunday!!!! it was about a girl i think and that's all i remember.

Yeah I was there for Becuz....one step at a time.

luxinterior 06.17.2006 12:30 AM

Yeah, all of the girls on the show either want to be Prom Queen, or they want to do extreme sports.

True Life can be interesting at times as well. I liked the "I Don't Fit In" episode, with that boy who loved the New York Dolls, but didn't have any friends because of it. Ah, the story of my life.

Rob Instigator 06.20.2006 09:42 AM

+I for one loved the [performance on Letterman. They sounded fanfuckingtastic. the song sounded thick and delicious and noisy and fucking wonderful. I WILL SEE THEM THURSDAY!!!! YAY!

Letterman is god. sonic youth is god. there is no god but these

when I saw sonic youth in their pre-tour warm up gigs for sonic nurse tour, they played WISH FULFILMENT and I came in my pants at least 6 times.
