in the counrty you can make as much noise as you like. but i still choose city.

you should put a pole in this topic

i have found myself being more scared in small towns than i ever have in cities. i have been in some of the supposedly most dangerous places in cities across the world and never felt the fear of being confronted with a bunch of drunk locals and backwards dropouts that live just 10 miles away.

Funny you say that Toxic Johnny.Even though i much prefer the city,i've always imagined my life to end by the sea with a jukebox that plays Glen Campbell on heavy rotation.

City life. City life has all the benefits of culture, shopping, leisure etc but with the added bonus that it's fairly easy to get to some countryside or coast, which I do regularly.

I love the North West. The variety is ideal, there's access to everything, plenty of things worth accessing and the public transport, on the whole, is pretty good (from my front door to Liverpool takes about 15 minutes, my front door to Manchester is an hour and a half, to Chester about an hour).

I want easy access to everything, and I don't want to have to drive, ever.

That's very true... I was born in Sunderland which is on the coast... I have many happy memories of playing on the beach in all weathers [including snow] when I was young. My parents used to live a couple of minutes walk from the sea front.

here's an amusing excerpt from an old spin-online interview with Lee Ranaldo: SYDaydrea: What did you think of Thurston's solo effort?
LeeSncYuth: Man, which one? DID YOU HEAR THE CORPUS HERMETICUM RELEASE? (sorry caps) That is one ill pup. P Hearts roks too. (He's singing along w/ the gtr line, though...) Ha ha. That's priv joke to T.
I guess this applies to any of Sonic Youth's later records as much as it does to Psychic Hearts

i'm a country boy at heart although i've spent the guts of the last 10 years living in cities. 100th post-hooray for me!

EMMAh 06.18.2006 11:02 AM

I love living in the country because it's really pretty and such, but I hate how there's nothing around like in the city.

Inhuman 06.18.2006 11:18 AM

I'd love to live in the country. I could be one of those yokels with a plaid shirt and smoking a pipe with an acoustic guitar playing Robert Johnson on my front balcony with a shotgun beside me.

On the contrary, if there's no high speed internet and I have to give up this message board; it would suck.

EMMAh 06.18.2006 11:20 AM

There is too high speed, I'm on it. It's in selected areas though.

Inhuman 06.18.2006 11:28 AM

I was saying if there wasn't ^_^. I guess it really depends where you are, and there's no way I can go back to dial-up
