I'm saying that people in Taunton are inbred. Not as bad as Shepton or Midsomer Norton, but they're definitely inbred.
Most regional accents do the thing of amending their accent depending on audience. I noticed just last night at a kiddy with a broad Hartcliffe accent suddenly became much more legible while trying to chat up some broad. |
A girl from London who was visiting a friend of mine mentioned that I have a slightly different accent than the rest of the people at the party. I had to take her word for it but I'm a typical homebody American so there was little I could have adopted from elsewhere. I suppose the variety of accents in England give the people a far more sensitive ear for variation than myself. Freaks.
