I did! I talked to him a couple of weeks ago in Dallas too. I'm sorry that I didn't see this until now or I would have told him that. :(

ps: best show ever. I got to sing along during Caterwaul and got a drumstick! I'm totally fucking hard for the Trail of Dead.

Yes, very too bad you didn't get the message in time. Conrad's a really good kid. I like him a lot, and hope I still get to go backstage when we get divorced.

I never miss being 16, but if I did, I suppose I'd miss Def Leppard and Journey. But how does anybody miss that which they can experience just by mentioning? I can play those albums note for note without ever having to own them again.

I bought a print from him too! his art is really cool. it's sort of Alphonse Mucha vs. steam punk vs. 1970's custom econoline.

floatingslowly 10.24.2009 02:32 AM

I don't miss being 16, but I miss The Smiths.

Yeah, exactly. He uses some neat software to do it too. The funny thing is I know him from the Evergreen State College program we were both in called "The Artist in Technoculture Representational Politics" which featured both print making and digital art. I know him better through the soon to be ex-mrs., but that's where we met. It obviously impacted him positively. Though he wasn't even a registered student, just taking the class on the sly because they were too clueless to notice.

My French-Canadian internet dream girl emailed me a link to a Smiths song yesterday to sum up something or other. It didn't make me feel 16, because at 16 I hadn't even heard of them, and it didn't make me feel 19, because at that age I hated them for being the opposite of Pussy Galore and shit. Nonetheless, it still somehow made me nostalgic. Perhaps for being 30 and making a living as the '80s night dj in Olympia.

www.conradkeely.com

the print I bought is called Knowledge is Power. it's not on that site, but I'll take a picture once it's framed.

I'm a sucker for art involving women holding bowls. I have an oracle complex, I think.

A woman with a bowl is always two good things.

davenotdead 10.24.2009 02:40 AM

i guess what i am trying to say is that i find it sad that i won't ever be able to think like i did at age 16.

you know, hendrix=god and blink 182 is fun poppy music and i don't have to wrry about jail time when staring down high school girls
