102/9 Degraves Street, Melbourne
$440 p.w.

chicka 11.11.2009 03:37 PM

what's p.w. is that the way you say utilities included?
rents seem reasonable if those amounts are in us dollars

There are lots of nice places though.

I used to work at Dandenong. Some dude tried to get out of his car and abuse me/beat the crap out of me for not turning left quick enough in a car park. yeh awesome.

It's the vast endless suburban sprawl, people are spread out and cut off and disconnected and atomized.

I think they are in oz dollars, for the oz people. Utilities like gas and water and elec? Those aren't included in that price. I'm looking at somewhere around 300 pw

Oz is pretty close to usd at the moment though, so it is about the same, slightly less. And yeh pw is per week.

It's actually on Flinders St, Degrave is the side laneway.
That place used to be a department store with access directly to the Royal Arcade
(thats the actual name of what is commonly called the Degrave St Subway entrance to Flinders St Station. You may notice that the exit is to the right of the tunnel and the tunnel itself keeps going and then just stops, the wall on the left isn't concrete and tiles but painted woodwork-it used to continue on into several basement entrances to shops.

I know where Degraves is. :)

Are you saying there are no shops down there at all anymore? Or just that there used to be more? I only haven't been downthere for a few months. haha.

It looks like a tube station.

phoenix 11.12.2009 08:04 AM

kinda. there are only a couple of underground stations here. It's mostly above ground. London underground > my PT system, by miles.

Have you seen pictures of St Pancras railway station in London after the renovation and expansion work? It looks amazing. :)
