the ORG re-issue of "Sister" is set for release on 12/14.

I thought these were supposed to have come out in August (I even saw a preorder thing on the site) ??? Still, it will be nice to find some pre-2000 stuff on vinyl that won't make my bank account cry.

CIS and EVOl colored vinyls were RSD limited releases back in April. I bought both of them. I think they sound killer, recorded them to my PC, will have them as WAV files soon, if anyone is interested.

As for the other 2, yes they were originally listed to be out in August, then Sept, now this. I am CERTAINLY buying Sister next week, will report back on sound quality. Will get BMR in Jan too.

As for haters, I am a GEN X-er, and I never owned the vinyls, was a CD dude at that point, there is nothing wrong with wanting something on vinyl that will sound great in mint playing condition, but what do I know, I just listen to and love music...

Was the Sister LP sealed? If so, did it have any kind of sticker on it indicating it was colored vinyl? I only ask cuz I bought both the color and black version -- at least I think so . . .? (One for listening, one for collecting (cannot help my collecting bug) :) ) These releases are kinda confusing.

I heard Sister sounds *awesome*!!

Also: CiS and EVOL is now available on lower-priced black vinyl.

Just picked up my copy today. Only one local record store had it, they got it yesterday, and they only got 2 of them.

My copy is in the perforated plastic bag, not shrink wrap, and the sticker on the front says nothing of whether the vinyl is colored or not.

As I open it I find out...

...It is black, and I am salty cause I paid more than I wanted to for it!

I'll scan the "colored" vinyl version later. The main difference on the sticker is it says colored vinyl in the bottom left.

Blue vinyl? That doesn't sound right for a record called Bad Moon Rising. Pumpkin-orange would have been more appropriate, I should imagine.

Hmmm.. might have to fucking hook up Bad Moon and Confusion. Already got EVOL (locked groove) and Sister yo (the uncensored Sister sleeve)

So is the Bad Moon Rising colored vinyl going to be blue or orange? The SY store says blue, but orgmusic still lists the color as orange.

I will be ripping BMR to WAV once I get it. Already got all my other Sonic Youth vinyls ripped to WAV on my PC, lovin' it!

OK - fyi I emailed around and got an answer. The Bad Moon Rising vinyl IS going to be orange - the SY Store was listing the colored vinyl version as blue by mistake. Yay!

I really thought it was gonna be orange due to the only colored vinyl during that time period -- Halloween.

Blue did seem quite an odd choice...
