btw there is a ton of turntable accessories on this site....

....no halfway serious DJ plays on any turntables except Technics 1200/1210's....they are built like a fuckin tank and they have been the standard for a couple decades.... maybe a little pricey just to play records on but they hold their value

but the thing is, no one here (that i know of) is a dj, so why waste a ton of money on a djing player, when.. you just wanna play some records?

i mean it never plays at the right speed
causing the voices to sound mildly slow
but this is unlistenable

it is probably the drive band a big rubber band because that player would not be direct drive kind. the band would be too loose probably and not allowing the table to spin up to speed....

one of my records (just one) had some stuff sticking off the side of the vinyl...(part of the vinyl i mean) and it would cause it to periodically slow down cos it was rubbing against the little wall beside the turn table area (in the reacord player i mean..)

Or you could just go to a record store and have them throw it on the VPI or Nitty Gritty cleaning machine for a dollar.

I threw out my old Discwasher brush becuz I was finding it was making my records dirtier. It wasn't dust so much as lint and fibers coming loose from the brush and adhering to the vinyl when I used the solution. That's when I switched to the microfibre cloths and my own solution of 1/2 distilled water and 1/2 denatured alcohol. Haven't had a problem since.

I do throw the microfibre cloths in the wash every once in a while, too.
