Our "study hall" got cancelled junior year because people couldn't be mature. It was a very unregulated class - sweet deal. They started a new detention-esque study later that year, which I attended once because a girl I liked was in it, and never went back.

i almost took drama class (this year) because a girl i liked was in it. and i don't even think she is in the same class... she is majoring, while i would be minoring.

thankfully i didnt. a) i hate drama b) i don't like her "that" way no mo'

acousticrock87 08.29.2006 11:35 PM

I took two years of drama for the mere fact that I had to be at school early and it was the only other thing available besides choir. It was actually a rather good way to meet girls.

i hated study hall last year.

we now have an "academic advisory" class, we meet once a week for 30 minutes with a person to talk about our future. its bunk.

i'm not really in school anymore, but i picked "network operating systems" as my main subject for my part time course.

My school does block scheduling, meaning on "A" days, we have four 85-minute classes, and on "B" days, we have another four 85-minute classes. Its great.

Our biology teacher left to transfer to another school without notice, so we've been getting this fat middle-aged lady as a substitute the last few days. She doesn't know diddly squat about biology so she's been having us watch kid movies instead. We also had her for a College Study Skills substitute- our real teacher was pretty upset to learn she had us watch Garfield instead of teaching from the lesson plan.

My school has block schedule as well. Four (hour 1/2) classes one semester and four the other semester. It's not so bad, really, unless the class is really dragging along.

Alex's Trip 08.30.2006 06:33 PM

We do blocks too.

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays are normal periods 1-6.

Wednesdays are hour and a half classes of periods 1, 3, and 5.
Thursday are hour and a half classes of periods 2,4, and 6.

Anngella 08.30.2006 06:43 PM

I have to repeat Algebra 1AB and Science. Blows big time. I shouldn't have used Algebra as a naptime..

Then I have Biology, US History, English Lit. 1st semester, and Speech 2nd. Then I'm taking a Photoshop class, and Art Foundations. Weeee.
I really wanted to take a photography class, but my school doesn't offer it.

Everyneurotic 08.30.2006 06:44 PM

i had heavy metal debate class for my last 3 semesters in college.

golden child 08.30.2006 06:48 PM

we have A-B, A days is classes 1-4, B days are 5-8... the courses change next semester of course, unless its a yearlong class. in which case it may be switched to a different period.

HaydenAsche 08.30.2006 07:00 PM

We had blocks but it was the same classes every day for a semester or quarter. None of that gay switching every day.
