Somebody should recommend a place to start with David Grubbs. I love most of O'Rourke's solo output that I've heard, and every Gastr record I've heard.

I would say if y're into indie , try 'Rickets and scurvy" or "the thicket" or "Spectrum "or "a guess at the riddle" (geez these four LPs are all gold)
If you like more droney / improv, maybe his last one An Optimist Notes the Dusk or his stuff with Gustaffson or Loren Connors.
But it's all good mostly

Definitely rickets and scurvy.

I dunno how many albums he has with Gustaffson but the one I heard sucked.

He's got a couple; not his best definitely, but hey. His worst still tops a lot of others' worst...

30minute raven is also quite nice for improv/ droney stuff.
