The contemporary Baltic in Newcastle. There was works by mental hospital patients and prisoners from various detention centres around the region.

There's an awesome galley on the quayside showing some unreal sculptures but the queues on opening night were ridiculous. I wen tback on another day and had the place to myself. Unreal works.

Right these wrds and sentences are basically terrible and full of shit and no-one should have to try and decipher this crap so i'm off. have a good one internet (soul) (guys).

I wasn't that into the exhibition while I was going around it but found myself thinking about certain bits of it all day afterwards.

Hi, demonrail - is this one worth checking out?

It's definitely worth a look but a bit hit and miss. Didn't realise he was so eclectic.

Design Junction

Very hit and miss survey of current designers. All very nice but nothing very interesting.

Malevich at Tate Modern

Love the concepts and theory behind this stuff but felt underwhelmed seeing them in the flesh. You may as well just look at and read about them in a book.

Late Turner at Tate Britain

Amazing. Easily my exhibition of the year so far. The watercolours are incredible.

Norham Castle, Sunrise, 1845

demonrail666 09.23.2014 11:26 AM

Ha ha. It was like Ikea, tbh. And I (foolishly) went with Costa in the end.

Jealous!

Saw David Lynch's exhibit in Philadelphia. Very inspiring!

Sigmar Polke retrospective @ Tate Modern

Loved it.

Ryan Trecartin/Lizzie Fitch @ Zabludowicz

Mixed feelings about this when I was looking at it, but I came away liking it.

Damien Hirst @ Paul Stolper

A small exhibition of his enlarged pills and medicine bottles. All felt pretty pointless.

I wouldn't know if it's your thing. I thought the micro sculptures looked like things which would look nice turned into drawings. The painted stuff seems like it's been lifted off street walls without the time to develop a history that lasts for longer than a week, so if you are the sort of person who appreciates this type of art you'll enjoy your visit. The book shop in that gallery is a fantastic exhibition in itself.

demonrail666 10.29.2014 03:11 PM

Yeah, I'm mostly just curious. I'll have a look. The bookshop's great, but I hate their new cafe. It makes the actual gallery look like an after-thought.
