There's a recording floating around of Lee playing with the Master Musicians of Jajouka in Holland circa 2003/4. It's good, but from what I remember Lee is pretty restrained and lets the MMJ do their thing.

Yeah, I've got a set like that if not the same one, and your characterization is accurate. As it should be really. I shared a LR/MMJ track recorded at their village festival here once (from Cool Beans zine) with Lee higher in the mix droning over the MMJ, always wanted to hear more of that and any other Lee in Morroco stuff. I didn't realize until Lee's Instagram post that the whole SY band joined the MMJ live on stage in Granada, Spain though. I'll have to look for that if it is not an imminent SYR/SY archival release.

Quite tempted by this, although UK shipping costs the same as the CD itself. I wonder if it will get any European distribution. If anyone hooks up a copy, feel free to leave a review!

Did anyone received this item for real? It is stated as pre-order since months. Do they ship these?

I actually canceled my order once I found out it was a bootleg.

Nice! Although I think I'm right to assume that "Contact Us To Buy" means "Brace yourself for an expensive order", no?

Yow! I hadn't seen that! (Note to self: always check the home page before diving into SYG). I say... yes a new archival release must be a-comin'.

Ciccone Youth II ?

halgreen 04.21.2016 05:37 PM

I wonder if they'll announce another release before they finish reissuing the 80s albums. A few more months until confusion...

noisereductions 04.22.2016 08:13 AM

I really hope it's a new archival release. I loved Smart Bar so much. I'd be happy if they just put out new albums like that once a year...

Superior Viaduct is reissuing Suicide's self-titled debut LP on June 17, and Mr. Thurston has written the liner notes.

I must spread some Reputation around before giving it to hipster_bebop_junkie again!

Purchased! Also, I hadn't noticed there's a respectable number of Lee cooliosities on Bandcamp. I only had the formidable Live At Roulette recording with Noveller.

We are very excited to announce this very special release: a brand new composition by Thurston Moore, created in collaboration with the Bernie Sanders campaign. Titled "Feel It In Your Guts," the track is a twelve-string acoustic piece laced with excerpts from Bernie Sanders' speeches, touching on topics like the worship of money, economic inequality, social justice, and the need for basic human rights for all people. (Arranged and mixed by our buddy Mike Bridavsky.)

The release is limited to 1000 hand-numbered copies on square, white flexi-disc vinyl, with screenprinted cover art by David Kloc.
