I included M. Night Shyamalan because he seems to be like the new Spielberg or something.

M Night Shamalamadingdong fucking sucks. I saw Signs and was bored to tears!! It's a fucking horror mivie that isn't scary!!!??? What the fuck? I would have demanded my money back but it was rented and I didn't even pay for it. Still, I felt like someone owed me some goddamn money for enduring two hours of self-indulgent drivel!!!!!

And The Village was horrendous!!!! One of the lamest movies I have ever seen.

Unbreakable was ok. But only ok. Nothing spectacular.

krastian 07.15.2006 01:43 AM

I agree, those movies were horrible......and I am a diehard horror fan. Not really horror, but yeah.

Tokolosh 07.15.2006 03:58 AM

I watched land/dawn of the dead last night.
Funny stuff... ripping arms, legs, heads off. Romero
is king!

krastian 07.15.2006 04:04 AM

It's in Western Maryland where many many horrible people with no open minds exist.

Tokolosh 07.15.2006 04:44 AM

Looks very pretty. Mountains all around and it's very green.
Nice hiking areas and outdoor sport. I like that steam train trip.
The Cumberland Theatre would be a great venue for the youth, don't ya think? Ha! Imagine...

bloom 07.15.2006 05:29 AM

Aki Kaurismaki, Claire Denis, Claude Chabrol and no one else.

LittlePuppetBoy 07.15.2006 08:45 AM

Why don't you have Akira Kurosawa on this list?! >:(

That's about the only cool part about it.

TheDom 07.15.2006 04:35 PM

I like Michelle Gondry

LifeDistortion 07.15.2006 05:00 PM

Kurosawa is not a filmmaker of OUR generation. And I wouldn't even say Kubrick was a filmmaker of the current generation. We didn't grow up on those directors. They are fantastic but they aren't really from our generation, like the others on that list.

space_monkey 07.15.2006 05:59 PM

1.david Fincher
2.david Lynch
3.spike Jones
4.jim Jarmusch
5.stanley Kubrick

Cantankerous 07.16.2006 12:31 AM

both utterly shit films. you can add marie antoinette to that list as well.

acousticrock87 06.25.2008 05:09 PM

I thought Lost in Translation was good. Maybe a little geared toward Japanophiles.

demonrail666 06.25.2008 08:56 PM

I thought I'd not like Lost in Translation much, seeing as how I'm a Japanophobe, rather than phile. I ended up liking it quite a bit in the end though. Weird. It didn't make me any less dismissive of the whole concept surrounding Japan, however.
