There is an art exhibit opening shortly in Philly with their art - and then a performance - amazingly they posted it on their website in advance.
Fuck, I still haven't got the last one yet.
Soon as I saw the title of this thread, I started smiling :)
beautiful song. when they want to they can nail dream pop like no other post-mbv.
The latest releases of them are all pretty damn good.

Yes, thank you! |
very much.

peace on venus seemed to be somewhat ignored from where I'm standing, which I found strange given that it's their best in a longgggg time (and I loved the s/t) |

That's going to be a fucking great release https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHmb7bA6FTE (edit: oops, not on it) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxUiVQi6VYA |

yeah. I blame the whole "underground gone disco" thing. |

its easy to miss their releases, and its not like they toured behind it, or there was any radio airplay. I didn't buy it because I didn't like their last release. |
Plus they put stuff out all the time, they are a band I've never got bored of and I doubt I ever will, but I'll never keep up with everything they put out.
I didn't think the ST was that good but Yntra and Peace on Venus were both great. They are still one of my favourite bands but it is hard to keep up.
Yntra is a good record, the record store day lp from last year was good too.
I can honestly say, I like all of their last releases, especially Peri (Silver Pavilion!), Yntra, Rise above it all and Peace on Venus. Also, I'm glad they rereleased Ticket Crystals and their collaboration with Tom Carter 4/23/03 (including the 4/25/03 cd!) on Vinyl.

Bardo Pond – Looking For Another Place 12”
(2nd part of a trilogy – complete on RSD 2015) LP // FIRELP340 // 809236134011 Bardo Pond follow up last year’s RSD release ‘Rise Above It All’ with the second of a trilogy of RSD exclusive releases. Continuing their exploration and interpretation of existing tracks, this time they turn their attention to ‘Ride Into The Sun’ by the Velvet Underground and ‘Here Come The Warm Jets’ by Brian Eno. The results are astounding and in the case of ‘Here Come The Warm Jets’ wonderfully surprising, with Isobel’s voice embellishing a rendition of startling Bardo pop. |
Refulgo is fucking incredible, the only track I'd heard before was Sangh Seritiam from the Harmony of the Spheres comp.
...Unbelievably excited to announce a Carbon Records release that will be available at this year's Record Store Day. The release will be a split LP from Loren Connors and Vapour Theories. The later is John and Michael Gibbons from Bardo Pond. Two of my all-time favorite acts! Spread the word, tell your favorite record stores to get in touch with me to place direct RSD orders (joe@carbonrecords.com).
Holy shit. I can't believe I haven't seen anything about this. Is this an April Fool's joke?
Rise above it all was pretty nice--maggot brain and creator has a master plan, and I think the eno cover could be pretty good, too. It's on my order list for RSD

if so I'm not in on it! |
uhh...
i just stumbled across something very nice. It's titled as Bardo Pond but it has to be Alasehir (John, Micheal and Jason) playing in a bookstore in philly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jItKTr1BxM 322 views... 'old bardo pond' stuff |

Here's an unofficial RSD release with Loren Connors and John and Michael of Bardo Pond. Edition of 300, 50 w/ a special screen printing. I hope I got one :) |

oh yeah i know of this. veryy nice. :) hard to find bardo pond lives. i think my most 'deep' and frequent utube searches are for them and Haino. |
Anybody lucky enough to pick up their RSD LP? Neither store in my city got them, they told me it was east coast only.
got it and I'm left coast
Very cool. How's the Eno cover?
Bardo Pond RSD sucks, whatever makes that woman think she can sing is beyond me. And I am usually real forgiving of female vocalists. Playing is great, but the vocals go on and on and on and on and on, I have higher hopes for the Mazola Conners split. I got it in the mail yesterday but have yet to listen
I love isobel's vocals, usually they work well into bardo's squall
Got them to play live for us on the radio next week, will update with more details

Good work man! |

Sweet!
Will it be available online for a while afterwards or is it listen at the time of broadcast only?
Did I miss it? I'm trying to figure out the time zone difference...
