got a few more days until i release the results, keep sending them in
|
I've tried, honest I have, but I just can't get excited about the 90s. When I try to think about that decade I just think grunge, britpop and baggy, none of which are things that I would want to feature in a top 25 that I had created.
Bring on the official 50 greatest albums of the 80s. Or have I already missed that? |

if you wish, if 25 is too many, you do can few as 10, my point system works in a way that award their number one 25 points, all the way down, and this mean a top ten can work like this
1 - 25 points 2 - 24 points 3 - 23 points . . 10 - 16 points i expanded it to 25 based on observations of last one done by SYRfox, with a lot of people adding many more then the required allotment, this way anything between 11-25 can get points based on that, and not be left out on the 80s list i haven't decided if i will do that, i suppose i could, but we'll see, just wanna finish up this list |

[quote] Where were you living during this decade ? There're a bunch of good albums, look at Atari's or Adam's list for example. |
Okay, here's 12:
1. High Rise - Live 2. Gate - The Lavender Head 3. Loren Mazzacane Connors - Long Nights 4. Tortoise - Millions Now Living Will Never Die 5. William Hooker with DJ Olive & Glenn Spearman - Mindfulness 6. Boredoms - Super Ae 7. Einstuerzende Neubauten - Ende Neu 8. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - The Boatmans Call 9. Beastie Boys - Check Your head (thanks, Atari, I'd forgotten about that) 10. Julian Cope - Peggy Suicide 11. Depeche Mode - Violator 12. Beck - Odelay EDIT - late addition: Atari Teenage Riot - The Future of War, new in at number 6. I can't believe it took a trip to the coffee machine to think of that one. All numbers below that shift down one. |

fugazifan, you should be reminded of Fugazi EVERYTIME you post!

You could switch it with Kid A in your list, since Kid A came out in 2000. |

But shouldn't it be stuff that still stands up today? Otherwise it's not "Greatest albums of the 90's" but "Albums you thought were great during the 90's". By that logic Nirvana would probably occupy 4 or 5 of my slots even though I've barely listened to them in the last decade... |
In no particular order...
Radiohead - Ok Computer My Bloody Valentine - Loveless Sonic Youth - Washing Machine Mansun - Six Blur - 13 Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain Pixies - Trompe Le Monde Nirvana - In Utero At The Drive-In - Relationship of Command Nirvana - Nevermind PJ Harvey - Dry Fugazi - Red Medicine Portishead - Dummy R.E.M - Automatic for the People Sigur Ros - Agætis Byrjun GYBE! - F#A#oo Slint - Spiderland Beck - Odelay Bjork - Homogenic Massive Attack - Mezzanine Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible Dinosaur Jr - You're Living All Over Me Low - Secret Name Pulp - Different Class Boards Of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children |
