I have a channel on youtube and I've uploaded over 100 instrumental cover versions from the SY catalogue. Right now I'm two songs short on Sonic Nurse. Then it's Rather Ripped and The Eternal.
I'm too new in this forum to put direct links to my cover version (or maybe someone knows how to go around it?) but my channel name is: nvanliforp Drop by anytime and comments - good or bad - are always much appreciated :) See you guys around. |

That's why their debut album sounds so great  |

I love how you chew gum, act like playing the stuff is as simple as blowing your nose, and then do a gorgous version of the song, whatever the song. I've only heard about half of the covers and haven't come across a dud yet. Prick. |

Thanks a lot for commenting. I hope you'll take the tour through the rest of the covers. It could be worth the ride ;) Thanks! |
Lots of new cover versions from Rather Ripped can now be seen on my youtube channel.

my band Bear Flames used to cover Burning Spear live (we were then called Bare Flames) we are an instrumental band, but I ended up singing it and playing Thurston's drumsticks guitar... I did have a minidisk recording of us doing it live but my minidisk player/recorder bit the dust awhile ago, poo.

Hi guys,
So, I just wanted to let you know that my SY acoustic instrumental interpretation project now has reached around 130 covers. You can see them all on my youtube-channel (which I can't link to here unfortunately), but if you do a search on youtube on a specific SY song, like this: 'Teenage Riot cover' or 'Pink Steam cover' then look for my profile name: nvanliforp. On the other hand, if anyone knows how I could make the link directly to my youtube page I would appreciate it a lot! See you guys! |
Dude, no one cares about your awesome acoustic versions of our favorite songs. So if what I prefer your version of "No Way" to the Eternal version? Who gives a shit that you're a brilliant player and I love listening to your stuff? I assure you, not one single person on the board gives a toss that you've devoted endless hours to SY in order to create a thrilling one-of-a-kind experience. Get a life.

This is actually pretty awesome. You should open for Lee or Thurston... |

An opening act would be out of the question hah. But if it could happen it would be accepted indeed :) A jamsession with Thurston and Lee on the other hand heh ;) No, I'm just having some fun. That's all. |

I'm not necessarily defending him but if he wants to do covers/interpretations there shoudln't be any issue with that... geez, and how does this rant you rave on about make you any better? ... you are a sad whiney SY fan that needs to take your own advice, getting a life. |
@scott v. Are you serious?
that post by evollove sounds 100% sarcastic....like....it's bleeding sarcasm through every pour of its imaginary body....In fact, that's an amazing compliment he's paying to the dood. |
For anyone interested, it's all been cleared up via PM. I love the guy's stuff. EVOLghost is spot on.
Sorry for any misunderstanding. All my fault. |

Sorry about that. Beers on me, yay. |
that version of The Neutral is fucking brilliant
|
sarcasm does not exist in textual form. It is only available through tone or body language.
I really think Eric Clapton rules. That was sarcastic. no way to tell. |

Actually, here are a bunch of versions of Skitzo. Nearly every one sucks. Prove me wrong.

Nope. Sarcasm doesn't exist in textual form. Not at all. Not one bit. There's no fucking way to tell if someone's being sarcastic. Even if they really ham it on. Not at all. Not one bit. |

Teenage Riot, by Japanese shoegaze band Cryv, with vocals by a Vocaloid vocal synthesiser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocaloid) - short sample at track 11. You're gonna hate it.
