And by SY Forum I mean the ghetto-ass Fullerene board.

first of all, if you call his glasses stupid, you are no longer granted entry to heaven, which is a lot like live 8, a bunch of rich talentless bands playing all the time to an audience of morons who gained their entry to paradise while mocking starving children in third world countries by saying this is the way to save them secondly, the book of genesis, which kabbalah studious know it's real name is "boy", says: "thou the glorious ego decended from thy heaven to engeder the land. and thru thy glasses of self-aggrandisation he looked and he saw that it was good. thus the earth was born" |

cool, ill go snatch it up.:) |
Mark Prindle is a pretty cool guy.
Fullerene board is sooo tacky |
i think i like this board better. harder to remember which thread had what though.
|
I enjoy this board.

hey, i downloaded the lp. listening now. |
Sweet. I suggest the tracks "Life of Artic Sounds", "All Nite Diner", and "Interstate 8".
|
what lp are you guys talking about?
|
Celine Dion's collabs with NWA back in '95 with Thurston was pretty hilarious. I heard they had mass orgies in between songs.
Mark Prindle's ok. He gives crappy reviews to records that really aren't that bad, sometimes, but I guess difference of opinion. |
It wasn't so much of an orgy as it was a wine and cheese party.
|
They're interchangeable terms.
|
It depends on if you are going by HuskerDu's Dictionary or Webster's.
I suppose you are right though, oh almighty schizophrenic one. |

modest mouse building nothing from something |
Did you know that Sonic Youth wrote all of the tracks for The Fruit That Ate Itself by Modest Mouse? Thats why it's the best Modest Mouse CD. But really it is my favorite MM CD.
|
I like the Fruit That Ate Itself. I knew SY wrote it.
My Favorite Modest Mouse LPs go as follows: This Is A Long Drive... Build Something Out Of Nothing Lonesome Crowded West Sad Sappy Sucker The Moon & Antarctica Ugly Casanova's Sharpen Your Teeth The new one sucked bad. |
I got sick of the new one quick. My second favorite is Lonesome Crowded West.
|
Really? This Is A Long Drive... is absolutely flawless IMO. I like them all alot though.
|
Wasn't Sonic Youth headlining that tour? Weren't they called "the Beatles" around that time?
|
Yeah and didn't Steve get calf implants around then too?
|
I think so. It was the first time he got the calf implants then. He pulled a Pamela Lee Anderson and got 'em taken out and put back in.
|
I wonder if Steve would like this joke:
What do you call a man that makes beer? HEBREW! yes I made that up. I had a dream that Jim O was related to Anne Frank and he went on TV and did an interview about her. |
That wasn't a dream buddy. It was on BBC in 1974.
|
Quote:
are you sure? don't quote me on this, but I am sure Jim O was doing a noise split with Karen O at that time. They went under the names Dog Nose and Pubic Cop. |
Yeah. He was on BBC for promoting the noise split but Anne Frank ended up coming up.
|
Thanks guys.
I also heard Anne Frank did a split with huskerdu in 29. |
I was in the next room when he got those implants. He cried like a little girl the first night because along with calf implants they accidentally put a boob implant in his thigh.
That split kicks ass. Courtney Love appears on track number 4 on the harmonica to accompany Anne on triangle while David Lee Roth and Bob Mould sang. |
That was a KICKASS tour. Sammy Hagar's grandma played guest guitar during Expressway. Shit, it was cool.
It was the same when Thurston went off to 'Nam. They had baby Ian Mackaye sing an early version of "Straight Edge" on electric cello. |
I love David Lee Roth. I have the orignal 3 meter that he and Captain Beefheart did in 87, around the time the Beatles released Meet The Beatles. J Mascis sings backup and Igor Stravinsky plays drums.
I also heard Sun Ra showed up and he and Henry Rollings played electric triangle. |
Doesn't Rivers Cuomo sing backup on a track? I love those albums. It's SO post-emocore, but it's very relevant today. Underrated!
Sun Ra usually popped up on the SY/Hole/Mozart/Husker Du tour to dance during any Confusion Is Sex songs. He can shake his ass like it ain't no thing. |
Quote:
you obviously know nothing about good music. I guess I forgot to mention Barry Manilow sang lead on a couple tracks and Stevie Wonder READ spoken word from a book Conan O'brien and Cosmo Kramer wrote together. |
No. It was Ben Gibbard not Rivers Cuomo. Rivers was on the collaboration between the White Stripes, Patrick Swayze, and Steve Shelley. I didn't like it as much as I dig the David Lee Roth stuff.
|
Did they write it in the shower? If so, I remember that book!
|
Quote:
yeah they did! Kramer had a garbage disposal and they also made salad while writing. It was not written in braile either so Stevie actually read it. Note: I forgot how to spell disposal at first and had to look it up. |
Then Levar camed over and they read a book with the rainbow that was born from the love that came from the buttzsex enjoyed by all that appeared/made the album in Kramer's shower.
|
Chuck Norris also offered liner notes.
enough about this split: have you ever heard the HuskerMinutemenDuscendents - Milo Goes To Zen Arcade And Plays Frogger With Double Nickels And A Dime EP? brilliant. I have it on cosmic-space-non-gravity vinyl. |
Yeah, Dude. I followed that Dead tour with Britney Spears and a beat-up oldsmobile.
Good Times. |
I have copies of that on vinyl made from Chuck Norris's tears.
Goo- No way. I rode around on Madonna's back from city to city for about ten dates, then we finally bought horses for the last show in Death Valley in '69. |
I totally just changed my avatar.
I love The Beatles. Dr. Pepper's Tasty Beverage Can ROCKS! |
You were the one on Madonna's back? We borrowed some tie-dye from you guys right before the the last show of the tour!
