SYG is the best forum that I've ever posted on. There's so much to learn from all of the members here. Some of the best bands I've ever heard, and the best movies I've ever seen, would have completely eluded me if it wasn't for this board. Plus, some of the members here are unbelievably hilarious (floatingslowly and amerikangod, I'm looking at you).

Oh yeah, and Cantankerous is really hot.

as is apparent from what people are commenting in this thread a big reason that people come here is to find out about new bands from people who have knowledge that they don't. so what we need to do is make one thread for each of these type of big syg bands that everyone already knows about. because i think on this board we aren't all such authoritarian assholes that we will get all "THIS THREAD HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE TRY SEARCHING BEFORE YOU POST YOU FUCKING NEWBIE!". we should get chabib to post a notice on the non sonic sounds page that makes clear to everyone not to make more and more threads about the same bands. one nirvana thread, one mbv thread etc. i think this would work better because it would force people to be a bit more creative in their thread making. there is one fall thread and its on 17 pages and keeps being resurrected. the discussion would probably be better aswell.

then posters could have just one thread for their own bands aswell.

I don't think SYG is as fun as it used to be. I used to spend hoourrs here talking about whatever the hell I felt like to whoever the hell I wanted.

Maybe this place is still fun, and it's just me who has changed?

Either way, SYG just isn't where I like to spend a lot of my time anymore, but I keep coming back just to see what you guys are up to cause I think most of you are A+ people. You're all pretty fucking creative, hilarious, and just good old individuals.

My comments had nothing to do with the SY side though.

It's just that people go on about the "state" of this board constantly and the "good old days" and "don't you miss so and so" and "I'm going away now because I have emotional issues" and so on.

I just find this board an interesting place to bs and sometimes the bs is downright meaningful or keeps me from being depressed about being alone in front of a computer. I don't have very high expectations, and when I drift away (which I do fairly frequently actually) I don't feel the need to post a thread about it. I miss people I fall out of touch with, but I don't think it has any lasting effects on other people or the general community. And I use the "c" word very loosely.

The constant self-dissatisfaction that boils up SYG is perhaps biggest thing that makes me dissatisfied. It never solves anything and I often lack the frame of reference to really be able to agree or disagree. The thing is, I've seen the same kind of sentiment in other forums when it comes to regulars that have regulared for too long to the point that the predictability becomes predictable. It's a bit egotistical that the forum should always be a constant source of your own personal entertainment. For instance, this thread was actually made in a sense of humor but surely enough it's taken as asinine and the serious complaints need to be made. The sickening irony is that these, too, are just banal motions we pass through.

I've got the cure for the current board rut:

1) everyone needs to get their heads out of their asses (or other's asses) and stop being so down on themselves/others/etc and in turn being narcissistic. Though I do enjoy the various quarrels on the board, put aside your personal differences or GTFO.

2) FUCKING STOP WITH THE "I'M GOING TO BED NAO GUISE BAI" threads/posts. I fucking hate that shit, as do most other boardies. truth is, no one gives a fuck. and there's already a thread for that, it's call the "whatcha doin'" thread, or something like that, created by satanas.

3) no one cares if you jerked off today. no one cares how many times you jizzed all over the wall/floor/face of someone you don't know/toilet seat. no one finds it amusing or interesting. and if they do, they need professional help. so stop fucking posting about it.

4) stop pretending like you (person reading this, including myself) know fucking everything about everything and acting like a prick because of it.

5) know how to pick up on sarcasm.

6) last, but certainly not least, THIS BOARD IS NOT REAL LIFE. INTERNET ISN'T SRS BSNS.

The problem with this forum(if there is one at all) is that too many people who post here have decided it would look quite smart to wear beige on a regular basis, and bring this attitude with them whenever they post.

this forum does not have an excess of posts, it has a lack of posts. Filtering what people should/should not post only makes the place more boring. I get annoyed at people sometimes for posting too much of the same shit, but only because there aren't 5 others posting enough to make up for it.

I still, kind of, don't get the but 'unnecessary sexual talk' biz, because to be honest this place doesn't seem too bad. There are a lot of porno shots posted but I've turned off images ages ago so really only click on pics in the art thread/post a pic thread if they seem interesting. Boys will be boys. It's no different real life conversation that goes on in my life to be honest. But maybe I'm just a guttermouth., and that's why it doesnt bother me.
