hate to be trendy but panda bear "tomboy" is incredible.

Derek 04.13.2011 08:05 PM

I thought it was gonna be shit but it's actually quite decent.

Some 2011 I've liked:

Lee Noble - No Becoming

Aieyiyiyi - Manners

Kon Tiki Gemini - Night Nights

Richard Youngs - Atlas of Hearts

How does the new Burzum compare to Belus?

The Dayton Family - Psycho EP

I've really been enjoying this EP. I can't wait for the actual album to come out. There's a strong sense of novelty on this release that I haven't heard on any Dayton Family album prior. Hopefully this isn't as vivid when the actual LP hits - I wouldn't want it to wear thin.

I'm a big Dayton fan. They're really nice guys in person, too.

It's somewhat in the same vein except this one has melodic vocals.

atsonicpark 04.14.2011 06:31 AM

I just heard the new ponytail and dug it.

EvdWee 04.14.2011 06:59 AM

i actually ordered it without listening to it. decided i need to own a ponytail record.

atsonicpark 04.14.2011 07:04 AM

i dunno if it's better than ICE CREAM SPIRITUAL. But I do like it. I like them. The guitars clash in neat ways. I mean it's just cool sounding.

You know what song rules?

SLEEPWALK BY SANTO AND JONNY

now there's a song. It's hard to be believe that song is 52 years old.

EvdWee 04.14.2011 07:41 AM

i haven't listened to ice cream also. they've been in the venue i work, but i couldn't see them.

it better be good.

atsonicpark 04.14.2011 08:52 AM

I think they broke up actually.

Inhuman 04.14.2011 09:28 AM

Ugh I made the mistake a few weeks ago of looking for a new dealer. Judging by his text messages, he seems like he's 17 and wants to be suave and O.G. I've gotten these past messages this week:

"Come get sum of dat purp kush playa."

"I just picked up some Diesel friggin reaks link me up"

"Link me up for that dies son"

Like Christ... Im'a block his number and tell him I don't buy from teens...

atsonicpark 04.15.2011 02:47 AM

^ Bahaha. Probably my fav. msg on this.. msg.. board. About msg's.

I don't have a cellphone. I always get emails. Haha. "Yo man i got dat fresh batch o' cookiez."

Recently, I got one that said "you know those things Mario eats? I got TONS O DAT."

atsonicpark 04.15.2011 03:27 AM

ps

Do you feel blame? Are you mad? Uh, do you feel like wolf kabob Roth vantage? Gefrannis booj pooch boo jujube; bear-ramage. Jigiji geeji geeja geeble Google. Begep flagaggle vaggle veditch-waggle bagga?

atsonicpark 04.15.2011 11:47 AM

ahaha, priceless. My current guy is apathetic and barely talks like a TRUE DEALA. I've dealt with so many of these shits that think it's cool to deal. My brothers friend was arrested and has a court case coming up for being so outspoken about how he was a dealer. "YO MAN I got som of dat BOMM ASS Molly! You can get the normal shit, but this shit bro brings you to fucking outa space"

atsonicpark 04.15.2011 07:54 PM

BOMM ASS MOLLY does sound good

timeless space-out zone music right there man, would go good with milk and cookies on a late night drive to Molly and Mario's house...

atsonicpark 04.16.2011 06:45 AM

yes!

Marolo 04.16.2011 08:18 AM

The new cyclo. (Ryoji Ikeda and Carsten Nicolai) is mental. Really good if you are into the harsher side of Raster-Noton.

Here's a track http://prince-marolo.tumblr.com/post...435/cyclo-id-5

Genteel Death 04.17.2011 08:19 AM

Iceage - New Brigade
UV Race - Homo GREAT RECORDS

StevOK 04.17.2011 08:27 AM

Everyone should check out this free* album, Elephants at the Door by Dumbo Gets Mad. It's an Italian Psych-Rock project that sounds like old reel-to-reel recordings mixed with just a hint of modern synths.

*free using PayWithATweet, where you pay for downloading the album by posting a link to it on your facebook or twitter.

Check out the song "Plumy Tale" here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8N18diRMVE

Oorutaichi- Cosmic Coco is worth a listen. Some kinda Japanese cut-up electronic pop...something or other. Heard it once while I was stoned, so impressions may be off.

atsonicpark 04.29.2011 04:02 AM

new krallice, the new alvarius, and the upside down cake cd

atsonicpark 04.29.2011 04:05 AM

here's the upside down cake cd:
http://www.scumtunnel.com/?p=128

it's just really fractured but good electronic pop stuff.. with funeral organs, robot vocals... i can't describe it. its catchy off kilter home recorded electronic stuff devoid of cliches

most anticipated album is the new toddle, next month!

atsonicpark 04.29.2011 04:16 AM

Finally sat through tomboy... I didn't find much to enjoy about it.

Gang Gang Dance's new LP is good, it might be my favourite release by them so far.

Glass Jar is such a great track.

I agree - totally better than the last one, this has an amazing Master Of Puppets kind of tone of the soloing (not just the first track) and the songs themselves are exceptional....... The entire album flows amazingly and I really think they've just sort of come together and made an incredible album. I dug Cosmogenesis A LOT but this to me is light years above. It's a really tricky venture putting musicians that good together but they really pulled it off....... the way it's shaping up this is probably my favorite record of the year so far.

New Necros Christos is amazing too, on par with Trine Impurity Rites after a couple spins. I wasn't as fucking blown away by the new Negative Plane as I expected to be, I find the rockabilly surf guitar parts to be really out of place and totally off putting. Maybe after a few spins or whatever but it's not killing it for me the way the last album did.

Ive got really high hopes of the new Miasmal after the promising demo and EP, and I expect the Ulcerate record to just kill me. The last one was incredible. Also on the horizon the new Saturnalia Temple, Craft (they recorded the album in like 2009 but it's yet to be released), Portrait from Sweden have recently recorded a new record and I'm really looking forward to that and I do believe mother fucking OPETH will have a new record out this year. !!! I'm really excited about that one, they're great.

I've also ordered the Heresiarch demo recently, seems a really promising mix of Beherit and Diocletian. I think their politics are pretty sketchy.... but I'm not really sure, they're just on a sketch label........

I'm pretty into that Megaphonic thrift record that was suggested here and the new True Widow is amazing.

Cylindrical Habitat Modules have a whole batch of new tapes on the way, I've ordered a few of those recently and they look amazing...... and Mark McGuire has a 2xCD anthology on Editions Mego coming out, I can't wait for that........

Glice 05.08.2011 04:20 PM

The new Lukas Ligeti record is pretty grand on today's listen. Polyrhythms all up in this motherfucker.

stu666 05.15.2011 04:24 AM

Master Musicians Of Bukkake - Totem Three
