I believe that is Tractor Rape Chain, and it is indeed one of the finest songs of the entire decade of the 1990s. Perfect in every way.

At the top of my mind and because i was listening to it for the 10000000000th time last night:
This Mortal Coil-Your Sister

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:22 AM

Spacemen 3-Big city

Savage Clone 08.02.2006 03:29 AM

Seriously porky?
That is my least favorite S3 song in the entire Spacemen discography.

I will list of some faves by them now, as their omission from my original list is a criminal offense:

Transparent Radiation (cover version that I love far more than the original)
Take Me To The Other Side
Call The Doctor
Things'll Never Be The Same
Honey
Losing Touch With My Mind

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:31 AM

Yes seriously. And it's only one of them.

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:34 AM

And anyway,i prefer 'Come Down Easy' or 'Mary Anne' to 'Big City'.It just happens that i was listening to it last night Savage Drone.'Revolution' is a love/hate thing.

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:36 AM

Glen Campbell-Witchita Lineman

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:37 AM

Ha! Sometimes I log on to a local chat room under the name "Savage Drone."

I agree fully on Revolution being a love/hate thing. Gotta hit that one at the right time for it to work.
Come Down Easy is great, but sometimes the whole "Shake It Babe" thing sounds pretty silly to me, especially as "shakin' it" is far-removed from the semi-catatonic state that a good S3 listening session should take place in.

Gotcha!

Cantankerous 08.02.2006 03:44 AM

search and destroy - iggy and the stooges

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:45 AM

Fuck me,that is entirely what i think about the 'shake' thing in songs.Same goes for the annoying use of the word 'Jesus' and 'my religion' and that sort of shit.

edit-it was referred to Mr Drone.

Savage Clone 08.02.2006 03:48 AM

There's a whole lotta Jesus talk in Spacemen songs for some guys who aren't even religious.

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:50 AM

The thing is,with them i don't mind it because it comes from a generally atheist point of view(I think, but i'm not totally sure).

Savage Clone 08.02.2006 03:52 AM

Oh yes, from what I understand they are atheist/agnostic.
"Walkin' With Jesus" is awesome, as is "Lord, Can You Hear Me?"

I need to go back to bed.

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:53 AM

Good morning.

Savage Clone 08.02.2006 03:54 AM

Indeed.
This was a pleasant interlude.
Rain sounds like it's letting up now.

porkmarras 08.02.2006 03:57 AM
