Is that you SC? A new stage act? |

Me?, Hell no. If I had that kind of stage presence I would be on tour right now, and I would be DOMINATING. |

Well, thanks for all the specifics. As to yr second comment... what? what does that have to do with homo-erotic novels. You seem to jump to really ridiculous conclusions based on naught but yr own stupid elitist opinions. Go to bed. |

too many amazing albums to mention, let alone make a poll.
i went for group sex since i can't believe it got so very few votes, that album inspired minor threat, dri, mdc and suicidal!!! |
what about Minor Threat-Complete Discography?
I chose Damaged, even though I like My War a bit better. |
I proudly wear my Minor Threat patch on my bag.
|
went for Damaged too
|
damaged is a comple and utter piece of dog shit
|

yeah because the minor threat lp is without a doubt the weakest thing they did by far and a complete failure that broke up the band. first four years for life |

yeah, i would have voted for bad brains if they were on there. it was hard to pick between the flag and the threat, but in the end, black flag is harder because they offer no hope. i'm more of a my war sorta guy myself.
man, punk rawk sure sucks corporate balls nowadays. hard to believe i used to listen to some of that shit. i remember when i used to go to warped tour, so many bands have cashed it in since then. i never like much of the newer stuff anyway, but still it was a rude awakening for a teenage punk 5-6 years ago, watching bands with supposed street cred cashing it in. nowadays i can't even listen to any of that shit punk that's coming out, did i miss the screamo memo? |
Hey sway, just out of curiosity is there much of a good punk/hardcore scene left in Macon???

I don't care what anyone says, there is a ton of rad "punk" and "hardcore" bands out nowadays, even ones that are relatively on the radar. Notables include (almost all of Three One G records, which could somewhat go into the noise-rock catagory, but who gives a fuck?) The Blood Brothers (who were with 31G for a bit), some local hardcore/punk bands, etc! |
We're not the first....I hope we're not the last.
|
I voted for the Flag like practically everybody else, but if the Screamers were on there, I wouldn't have thought twice.

God damn, so rad. |

I saw the Blood Brothers the other night with Trail of Dead. I went to school with Conrad of TOD, and my wife actually used to play in the band in the early, early Austin days, so we were hanging back stage. Blood Brothers were pretty good, but the main way they differ from old school hardcore is that they play way too damn long. The music was fairly complex and interesting, the vocals a bit testosterone heavy for me at this point in life, but really for as much as one song sounds like the next, I probably wouldn't have gotten bored if they stopped at a half hour. The drummer was to me the most talented guy in the band, and pretty cool socially too. The rest of them, I got the feeling were pretty smacked out. |

which songs? theres maybe one or two good ones. ian's vocals sound like such complete shit. just ramming that same damn note he hits into the fucking ground. their 7"s were about a million times better. |
and first four years is so much better than damaged its just basically insane.
and to whoever mentioned it, yeah bad brains - s/t is probably the greatest hardcore lp ever recorded. |
Refused are/were a great hardcore band. They took it further than any of them bands mentioned, different era slightly, but still just as influenctial as them bands. Fugazi was a huge leap from Minor Threat, but they're seperate bands, obviously.
Hardcore has it's many great bands. But if you're utterly only into hardcore, then you're boring. As Cedirc Bixler said: Hardcore is 1D. |

true i did just remember we're talking about LPs though so i guess its an unfair comparison for this poll. and those dri and suicidal tendencies albums arent even hardcore. more like crossover thrash type stuff. |
First Four Years is my pick out of Black Flags catalogue aswell.

yeah i really think its a no contest. i mean i think hank's a great guy who was extremely nice to me when i met him and any friend of sy is a friend of mine till death, but an artist henry rollins is not. |
Quote:
Oh, I think Henry Rollins is cool as fuck. Rollins Band are awesome, but I prefer eariler Black Flag when it comes to that particular band. But saying this, I'm more educated on the eariler Blag Flag material than when Rollins joined. |
Listening to Damaged now, and I must say it is a fucking cool album.
