Just be there!
We need a massive board meeting.

Danny Himself 05.16.2007 05:37 PM

I suppose there has been.

I woke up today with clusterfuck on all the senses. My nose was thoroughly blocked up and running at the same time, my throat felt like a rusty chainsaw, and my head felt like it was in a vice. I got up, had a dose of Calpol (god help me, I still can not bring myself to ever take a paracetamol pill), and went back to bed. I was asleep having a wonderful dream about being a jew when my sister came home from work and she was unaware I was upstairs in bed. So when I came out of my room and walked down the stairs, she shouted 'WHO IS THAT?!' in a booming voice because she thought I was a burglar.

Then I had some Beechams All-In-One for my throat and nose and sat on the couch with the dog playing on my ps2. And I've been basically drifting around feeling weird all evening. The Daily Show made me laugh, though. But I still can't get my mind off my trouble with the opposite sex.

So yeah, I've improved a little.

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 05:37 PM

'pukkelpop' probably means something pretty boring, but it sounds great.

Good. Manuka honey is most advisable, you know. Quite the thing.

It means "zit"pop.
Nice festival though.

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 05:42 PM

Thank you.

Danny Himself 05.16.2007 06:09 PM

Have you ever looked on the front of your passport?

The coat of arms has a unicorn!

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 06:12 PM

I don't have a passport.

In heraldry, the unicorn represents virtue and strength.

Danny Himself 05.16.2007 06:16 PM

Cool. There is also a smiling lion.

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 06:17 PM

The lion represents courage, you'll be not surprised to hear.

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 06:19 PM

Hello, people.

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 06:20 PM

Hello there.

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 06:23 PM

How are you guys today, or tonight?

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 06:27 PM

I'm good. You?

New Owner finds mummy in Spanish flat

A man in north-eastern Spain has made an unexpected discovery after buying a new home without seeing it first.

Inside he found the mummified body of the previous owner.

Jordi Giro bought the flat in the Costa Brava resort of Rosas at an auction after the previous owner defaulted on her payments.

He told police that he was shocked on going into the flat for the first time to discover her body sitting on the sofa.

It seems that Maria Luisa Zamora failed to keep up payments on her mortgage because she had in fact died in 2001.

Police believe the body has been preserved by the salty sea air.

Coroners said Mrs Zamora died of natural causes.

But questions are being asked about why no-one has been concerned as to her whereabouts for the last six years.

Police say neither her estranged husband nor her children in Madrid registered a missing persons report for the 55-year-old.

Neighbours say Mrs Zamora had bought the flat as a holiday home and told AFP news agency that when the garden grew over they assumed she had simply stayed away.

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 06:30 PM

Oh yeah I heard of that one, before I came to school today. It is sad though that no one reported her missing.

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 06:33 PM

It certainly is.

Mobile Phone Virus Scare Jumps from Pakistan to Afghanistan

Rumours last week were spread around Pakistan that a deadly virus was being sent through mobile phones, and that anyone answering phone calls from some certain numbers would contract a fatal illness. The rumours claimed that "as soon as you answer your phone blood comes out of your mouth, nose and ears and you die"

The cellular operators moved to calm down subscribers and said in a joint statement "These rumors are completely baseless. They do not make any sense in technological terms." Farah Hussain, a spokeswoman for Warid Telecom, told Reuters that their customer service centers had been inundated with panicky subscribers inquiring about the so-called virus.

However, the "virus" seems to have jumped borders and the rumour is now spreading through Afghanistan, and government authorities are blaming local Taliban for spreading the scare story.

"I find it necessary to assure the people that the rumour spreading around the city is absolute nonsense -- it's baseless," interior ministry spokesman Zemarai Bashary told a news conference. "It's the work of the enemy," said Bashary, referring to the Taliban.

The interior ministry said it was investigating the source of the latest story.

Hip Priest 05.16.2007 06:35 PM

The last one for tonight, I promise.

Accident-prone people do exist

Some people have all the bad luck. Whether you call them accident-prone, or just unfortunate, there's a group of people who really do have more mishaps than others.

Everyone seems to know a comic or tragic figure who tends to get into scrapes, but until now it has been hard to show whether they are genuinely more accident-prone than others. To answer this question, Ellen Visser and colleagues at the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands analysed the results of 79 studies which examined how prone people are to having accidents. In all, the studies recorded the mishaps suffered by 147,000 people, drawn from the general population in 15 countries.

Strikingly, it appears that there is a discrete group of people who suffer the most accidents: 1 in 29 people have a 50 per cent higher chance of having an accident than the rest of the population (Accident Analysis and Prevention, DOI: 10.1016/j.aap.2006.09.012).

Visser says the study doesn't reveal which people in particular are most at risk, but it does show that a band of hapless people exists. Previous research suggests that children and people who work on oil rigs or as combat pilots, for instance, tend to have more accidents. But Visser suspects that the hapless have certain personality traits that predispose them to accidents.

Goodnight everyone. See you tomorrow.

i'm just ok.

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 06:48 PM

Hey Schizo. How are you today?

schizophrenicroom 05.16.2007 06:49 PM

school was boring and i'm kinda tired. you?

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 06:51 PM

Still in school, researching why kids should be sent to preschool. That is the topic of my next speech.

Edit- Other than that I had a good day, sleepy but good.

schizophrenicroom 05.16.2007 06:55 PM

that sounds cool. i didn't go to preschool.

i napped my last two periods today. i've been unable to get tired until two or three am this past week.

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 06:57 PM

Oh I have been able to sleep wonderfully now, for some odd reason. I did go to preschool, it was so much fun, painting and counting, and all that crap.

schizophrenicroom 05.16.2007 07:02 PM

i started getting on a real nice sleep schedule but now that it's cramming season i'm up studying and writing until late.

i did a lot of painting in kindergarten. my teacher was a really sweet old lady who let me go off alone most of the time. she died when i was in first grade, and i went home and cried for a good two hours.

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 07:04 PM

I remember, in kindergarten, the first day I was so anxious to start school. There was this one kid who started to cry when her mother left him that he went after her. I remember giving my mom a kiss and then going to my class. Oh those where the days, especially the oatmeal and chocolate milk.

schizophrenicroom 05.16.2007 07:10 PM

in kindergarten i ate a lot of oatmeal. i got in a phase where it was the only thing i wanted to eat.

first grade for me was pretty terrible. my first teacher thought i was a know-it-all and let me and these two other kids sit in the back of the class doing "advanced" work grouped off everyone else. mom and dad had to drag me into class. then i switched to another teacher who thought i was "too precocious".

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 07:12 PM

Haha, I was the best speller in my second grade class, they were always giving my prizes for spelling things right. And in third grade I got to go to Disneyland, for being one of the smartest kids in class, and showing improvement and all that crap. I think the Disneyland trip was my highlight of Elementary.

schizophrenicroom 05.16.2007 07:19 PM

i got a ton of reading awards at my first elementary school. at my second one even though i was chubby i racked up the cross country awards.

my highlight was the big freeze tag game we had at my favorite park in fourth grade. and being on the school news team. the boy i was in love with, my then-best friend, and my other good friend did the "reporting"/camera work for a two-week rotation and oh my goodness, it was awesome.

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 07:24 PM

I am listening to Rufus Wainwright a cd compilation my ex( now friend w/benefits) gave me. He isn't a horrible singer, has a good voice. But too many gay themed songs, well all of his are.

schizophrenicroom 05.16.2007 07:26 PM

yeah, i can't really say i relate to his music too much but i love his voice.

SynthethicalY 05.16.2007 07:27 PM

Yeah, but I just like some songs, I get annoyed when all they sing is the same theme over and over. I need variety. I think I am about to leave, I need food. And done researching for my speech class.

drrrtyboots 05.16.2007 07:30 PM

I have to start writing my research paper on kerouac right now and it sucks pretty bad.
