yeah, i think i'm taking a 'net break. my eyes hurt.
nick! at least it's a leet topic. |
Write that he used color to describe life, brown represented family or something I am reading this autobiography that explains his work to the last detail on it. Let me see if I can find it online hold on...
|
Here it is Drrtyboots. It is actually a very damn good book.

I have all the information I need and am actually a pretty decent writer but it's just the nature of the beast to procrastinate and complain and writing school papers. But I did manage to pick a good topic indeed.
And i'll hopefully pick that up sometime, I love reading all things kerouac. |
have you read that one? That is pretty good, I like how it goes into detail of his life, and work.
|
Haven't read it. Actually, I haven't read many biographies on kerouac besides a few for this paper. I like reading his poetry and letters to friends much more. But the perspective of others is always so interesting as well.

d00d! how are you?
|
The guy from unwound! and GOLDBERG in your sig
|
That is no guy from unwound my friend.
|
i don't think i've ever seen more than two or three photos of unwound.
|
There aren't many around. There's apparently their entire final tour recorded somewhere which was supposed to made into a dvd but that never happened. Breaks my heart...
|
oh yeah.
and that makes me wonder about the mysterious evol documentary that i hope sees the light of day in the near future. |
As much as I do love Sonic Youth, I've seen a whole lot of live recordings of them but finding a good unwound show is next to impossible. And Unwound being my favorite band ever, it hurts real bad.
|
i've never seen on online anywhere, but maybe i'm not looking as hard as i could.
deerhoof's been competing with sy/pavement for that "favorite band ever" slot with me lately. apple o' is ridiculously awesome. |
YOU're right dude. It's Ed Templeton skateboarding SY fan superduper man
|

And yes, apple o' is insane. As well as reveille. Those are my two favorites by far. |
those krs vids are rad. i own a volume somewhere.
these hipster comic guys are taking over mtv for twenty four hours starting friday at noon and it says ted leo will pop up somewhere. they better play some daria. reveille is amazing. my mom really loves holy night fever whenever i put it on but she said otherwise she's not too into them (a fact that i love). but she did say john was cute. they have the video for the perfect me on our on-demand channels and i still think it's incredibly odd/rad to see deerhoof sandwiched between emo band videos. |

this makes me sad also. there should be a Don't Look Back: Leaves Turn Inside You |
That's exactly where they belong, perfectly and awkwardly out of place in a disgraceful musical world. I'm a little bummed I decided not to see them when they played in nyc last week but it was the same venue I saw them at in january and with all these summer shoes on the horizon i need to start saving. But one of the openers, dirty projectors, is probably the most original and talented pop band i've heard in ages. check it: http://www.daytrotter.com/article/72...rty-projectors

hey there :)
that would probably be the coolest thing ever. |
Quote:
yes! they are really, really good. i'll be honest and say they aren't terrifyingly original but i still think harlem shakes put out one of my favorite albums (eh, eps, albums) ever with 'burning birthdays'. i will be geeking out about them forever. |
As long as the band hits you somewhere special then fuck originality. But in the case of the dirty projectors, they completely upstaged hella when i saw them. Which is a ballsy statement considering hella is one of the most technically mind-fucking bands ever. But god damn, i love them projectors.
|
yeah, definitely. that's why i love them so much. they remind me of everything i love about music.
hella are just fucking awesome. |
They most deffinitely are but I really miss their duo days. But it's ok cause lightning bolt is still kicking asses all over the world and i'm seeing them in a week!
|
i will be there in spirit.

deerhoof >>>>>> pavement. :p and did i tell you i'm friends with one of greg's former bandmates? they just had lunch together the other day. i did not collect the gossip, but i could ask... |
i haven't found any kind of setlist for bright eyes this tour. hm. i'm hoping for "lua" to show up.
|
Haha, as you are tonight at steve's AF show. Aa is opening for LB, i'm ecstatic. And DMBQ are also opening, although all I know is they're some band from the 80's japanese underground and they look like they're still stuck in the 80's.

hey!! gold soundz is just about the best song ever. but whatever :p no, you didn't. that's pretty sweet. whatever gossip you have, send it here if it pertains to bay area summer dates. |
Quote:
ahh, Aa are rad. that was fun to type. |
You must have a ridiculously strong spirit. When you end up at columbia we'll go to lots of brooklyn shows, theyre great.

hah ha. my problem with pavement is that i don't like lyrics-based music. i dont perceive it as "music". the best explanation i've found is here: http://www.dyske.com/index.php?view_id=778 ^^ great article actually. so anyway. she used to be in greg's former band, nitre pit. she was recently in san fran & she & greg & rob fisk had lunch together. god damn i feel like a ratty busybody, telling my friend's life in a public forum. i know nothing of dates, or anything, and i don't have details of the conversation because we were catching up with other things, but if i hear something i'll let you know. actually i'm seeing her next week. but no more publicizing secrets. i feel dirty now. |
nick- we must.
|
Quote:
score! haha it's totally ok. that's why i don't really share much about my friends. i get that dirty feeling. i'm rather big on lyrics, but i understand what you mean. |
I've played too much wii today and my brain is fried. As I like to call it, wiitarded. Goodnight you crazy folk.
|
stay gold, nick. night.
|
you just planning on leaving me hanging, !@#$%!?
