More than two-thirds through Pattern Recognition. Very sympathetic protagonist considering my similar nameplusinitial screen name and own, though less severe, allergy to trademarks. Fortunately no techno/business intrigue.

John Barth - The Floating Opera. I'm actually getting pretty tired of this overly self conscious post modern stuff. Vonnegut is one of the few authors in that style who I'm not sick of. I'm moving onto Graham Greene next. Probably the Comedians.
