Paul Westerberg - "John, I'm Only Dancing" [Fantasy Studios, KFOG-FM, September 12, 1996]

FLAC and fantastic quality. Mr. Michael Bland (aka Prince's New Power Generation's Michael B., you dig) was drumming with Paul on this tour, but if I'm not mistaken Josh Freese is the drummer on this radio performance.

I've been fortunate enough to see Bowie perform live twice, in 1996 and 1997, right here in Werchter, Rotselaar. Thoroughly enjoyable shows. Bowie and his band had amazing stage presence and songs to match, it goes without saying.

The Man Who Fell To Earth original soundtrack due for release

The soundtrack to Nicolas Roeg's film The Man Who Fell To Earth is to be released for the first time.

The release coincides with the 40th anniversary reissue of Roeg's film.

UMC will release the soundtrack on double CD on September 9 and as a double LP and deluxe 2 CD/2LP box set on November 18, which features a reproduction of the original theatrical poster and a 48 page hardback book with rare photos.

David Bowie's final studio recordings and Lazarus cast album to be released on October 21

David Bowie's final studio recordings will be released on the Lazarus Cast Album on October 21 on ISO / RCA Records.

The three songs, "No Plan", "Killing A Little Time" and "When I Met You", also appear in Lazarus. They have been co-produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti and recorded with Donny McCaslin and his quartet, the same band that played on Bowie's ★ album.

The artwork for the Lazarus cast recording has been designed by Jonathan Barnbrook, who also worked with Bowie on the ★, The Next Day, Heathen and Nothing Has Changed albums.

The album will be released as a 2CD / 3LP set. Pre-order from September 16 will include instant downloads of the cast recordings, "Life On Mars?" and "Lazarus".

David Bowie BBC Documentary The Last Five Years to Chronicle His Final Albums
To Air in January, Plus Watch a New Edit of the "Life on Mars" Video

The BBC have announced a new documentary on the late David Bowie entitled The Last Five Years. As its title suggests, it chronicles the musician's final years and the recordings of his last two albums: 2013's The Next Day and 2016's Blackstar (styled as ★), as well as getting into Bowie's musical, Lazarus. The Last Five Years will include unseen archive footage, unreleased interviews with Bowie (as well as his friends and collaborators). It will also include an exclusive recording of Bowie's original vocal for Blackstar's "Lazarus." The documentary will air in January. U.K. readers can watch a trailer at the BBC here. Bowie passed away on January 10 after an 18-month battle with cancer.

In other Bowie news, a new edit of Bowie's iconic 1973 video for "Life on Mars" has been released. The video's original director Mick Rock put together a new cut for Parlophone in honor of their new Bowie Legacy best of compilation. In the late '90s Bowie gave Rock the rights to the four Bowie videos he made, as he was never formally paid for them.
