hahaha

I like Trout Mask Replica, but yeah, the production is annoying and it does go on for too long. I prefer Safe As Milk.

NME... You're list sucks. There are some good albums on there, but not in the right order..

davenotdead 01.31.2009 12:03 AM

wow

i just read this whole thread

GeneticKiss 01.31.2009 12:12 AM

Old thread, but I have an opinion, so---------

The Stone Roses' debut definitely had some good songs on it ("I Wanna Be Adored", "Elephant Stone", "Fool's Gold"), but there's also some stuff on there that absolutely BORES me. I can only listen to that album when I'm in a certain mood, and I'm not in that mood too often. So, I can only agree with the NME if they're judging it based on its influence on British pop/rock music in the 90s (play those songs with more distortion/reverb and they'll sound like shoegaze). Beyond that, it doesn't have a place in the 100 Greatest Albums of All Time-not in the Top 10 and definitely not #1.

I haven't even heard of most of the Wire's stuff...

Girlfriend, do you think I have the time and energy to know about every little band in the world?

Now that Wiki has given me an idea... I'll let them be. The "Manchester music scene" has never quite done it for me. You can keep your Smiths and your Joy Division (and your Stone Roses).

pbradley 01.31.2009 01:47 AM

I got head from a chick once for playing Stone Roses' "I Wanna Be Adored" for her.
