I've never cried to any music but I do get emotional listening to lots of euphoric dance music such as that, 808 State (if it's the one with the saxophone in), Go, You're Not Alone, etc (I don't have a clue who the artists are).

Otherwise it would have to be My Bloody Valentine: Something, Slowdive: Avalyn 2, Bardo Pond: Tommy Gun Angel, and another vote for Mind Games.

I think I already said slowdive... but I want to specifically mention the songs "blue skied an clear" and "souvlaki space station".

I'm listening to Blue Skied an' Clear right now, it's beautiful!

I'd also like to mention Crazy For You and Dagger.

Oh yeah Adam, have you heard the Slowdive demos? They rule.

oh yeah so reading the thread, two other obvious ones:
- Jim O' = halfway to a threeway
- SY = hoarfrost

Love and Anger by Kate Bush just came around on random play. I haven't heard it in months and man, I'm still bawling my eyes out. Her voice, David Gilmour's guitar, beautiful. If only someone told her not to say 'yeah' like that.

mil_pl 09.22.2008 03:09 PM

i think Unplugged in NY, by Nirvana was touching.
as greedrex said Misery is a Butterfly.
Beck - Sea Change.
Cat Power - You Are Free.
Blur - Think Tank.
Radiohead - Amnesiac.

and The Fountain OST

very rarely will a song itself actually make me cry.

there are only two that come to mind.

paper bag by fiona apple.
its a mix of the lyrics and just the sound of her voice.

michelle by the beatles.
not so much the lyrics, it's just the instrumentals. they're beautiful and sooo damn sad.

atsonicpark 10.08.2008 04:47 AM

so anyway, no actual tears but the album animal lover had a similar effect on me.

Haha man if you like that stuff you'll LOVE their early stuff... brilliant band.

Animal Lover.. it's worth reading the book that comes with the album if you have an actual copy. One of the few bands I really care about the packaging for and such.
