Playing the remastered Sister LP for the first time, and whoa. Even through my ancient stereo speakers and a very run-of-the-mill turntable, this sounds freakin amazing.
|
Beginning of an email I just got:
"I am writing with an update regarding your recent order for the Sonic Youth Bad Moon Rising Vinyl Reissue. I have just received word that there is a pressing delay for this vinyl and the new release date for it is February 15th, 2011" Serious bummer... |
Lame! But I guess that's good because I keep forgetting to pre-order anyway.

I thought it was a no-brainer: orange vinyl, because jack o'lanterns are orange.
I still think Bad Moon Rising should have been reissued as a deluxe 2-LP set, with all the various 'Hallowe'en'-related tracks and the original 'Death Valley '69' single comprising the second record. |
I vote for Destroyed Room #2, with all those 80's era bonus cuts collected together. Actually you could probably make a whole thrashed motel's worth of destroyed rooms from all the band's out-takes/b-sides. And a boxed set that folds out into a dilapidated motel. Artwork featuring vintage photos of hotel rooms thrashed by other more debauched bands.
|
So what is the final word on these remasters? Sound quality, artwork, overall collect-ability?
Chime in peeps... |

They are great! I am really happy with the sound. Ripped them to WAV on my PC. PM me if you want them ;) |
Hi Everybody!
So I just got Murray Street and Daydream Nation(4xLP version) on vinyl, ripped to wav/mp3. If anyone wants them PM me. |
I wouldn't, and didn't pay that much for a mint original a few years back. OVERPRICED.
