And every recording is perfect and there's no chance someone will screw up the audio of a band playing on stage. It's impossible. Absolutely. you guys are so fun I need to take a dump. p.s. I already said they probably are shit anyway live, it's just not a good reason to dismiss a band music altogether, coz recorded output can differ vastly from the lvie rendition of the tracks... |
what the fuck.
we meant the shitness of the mix is a supplement to the shitness of the performance which is in itself shit. obviously. |

i dismissed their music altogether when i heard it.
|
and your faeces.
shit. havent even heard them. psy fuxin chick |
what are you talking "it's the bands fault if you hear nothing"
i don't hear nothing, the sound quality is not that bad, i can hear what's happening fine, the situation is not anywhere near that i mean look at it this way, django reinhardt's recordings don't have good sound quality either but people think he's a good guitarist. that's fine because even though the fidelity isn't perfect you can hear the notes and rhythms etc. pretty well, which is alot different than hearing nothing. i agree, it's not fair to judge a band if you hear nothing. i've enjoyed things with much worse sound. it's not the sound that ruined it for me. it's the fact that the music consists of a synth going OOoooOOoooOO while a guy from north who doesn't have a deep voice tries to sound like a rapper with a very deep voice and very thick southern accent he doesn't do anything interesting with his vocal tone(unnappealing) or rhythm(clumsy) so the only thing that changes in the course of the track is the lyrics. the lyrics try to create a dark and intimidating atmosphere but don't do so he keeps doing this semi-contradicting thing which is totally uninteresting "i could get you right, but you ain't tryin ta get right" "i talk real loud, i don't wanna hear myself" "i'd kill myself, haaa, not myself" while trying to create some kind of mystical, demented atmosphere through his lyrics he says stuff like "you down with shit, now my dick hard go down on it haaa" seriously if talking about choking ghosts out of people and coming back to life and shit jocular toilet humour does not enchance the sort of atmosphere you are trying to create with music recorded output can differ vastly from onstage sure, but i don't want to listen to the recorded output of the guy who did one of the worst performances i've ever seen. the fact that this guy sucks that bad live and was willing to go on stage is just embarassing i mean this was genuinely one of the worst things i've ever heard i'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt because the sound quality wasn't absolutely perfect, the only thing i had any diffculty hearing was the bassline, and the best bassline of all time could not save that performance |

I remember when the girl I used to like told me my style was "geek sheek".
I assume 'sheek' meant 'chic' but by golly, I felt somewhat patronised. |

Well put. Nothing to overblown, they just write perfect pop songs with a lot of character. |
I'd just like to state that it is my personal opinion that Gucci Mane is the only emcee on the radio today worth listening to.

tl dr but honestly I have no idea why I started to say stuff about their live vid and shit, do kinn/poppin , forget everything I said, there was no actual point to all that stuff.
I still do love good portions of their recorded output, but I'm not much interested at all in the "people" behind that music (interviews and stuff), dunno why, perhaps coz they remind me of Jay. Thanks anyway doktor, bookmarked in the meantime. I hope it's a fun read. |

Animal Collective + Joanna Newsom + Deerhunter + Ariel Pink + Vampire Weekend + Antony and The Johnsons + Radiohead + Coco Rosie: If you read all these names in one go you have 10 seconds to find the nearest hospital bed because you're about to fall into a coma.

all those bands are crap yes.

can there be anything more redundant in 20fuckin10 than the achingly self concious irony of people who listen to crap indie and play the game of being a hipster by disavowing it? didn't think so. can there be anyone that is fooled by this move, creating the false impression of a sense of individuality by its lack of appearance because you just make a list of references to things that are shit/too indie. oh please yes. more of this please. the endless regurgitation of hipsterrunoff/vice magazine "humour" which is basically pretending to be a nihilist that needs an endless stream of the right commodity accessories. that "knows" that it's all crap really, nevertheless tries to buoy up their own stupid hedonic positivity because of this with dated 90's cynicism humour. i'm sorry but when it comes down to it i would just rob you.
you listen to shit music. people that don't like it aren't trying to be "underground" as some sort of a pose. you are the one playing those games. this music is utter crap so deal with it, or do whatever. i do not care. i do not care enough to defend my own taste or denigrate yours any further. |
Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest - superb album.

this thread sucks.

I dont even feel like we discuss music anymore most of the time. We just say "alright everyone who likes this band on this side... everyone who doesnt like this band over there... ok fucking tugowar!"
|
This forum is abysmal for discussing music.
|
for the most part, yeah. The best music discussions I've had in the past year on here were probably done via PM.

That was the point of my "pointless post" above. I think. |

I dunno....there's some good threads/discussions. But look what was said on the first 2 pages here about those who might like Deerhunter. I admit I lost it by page 4 or whatever. |
Quote:
yeah we barely discuss music as much as each other's taste. Or whatever. |
What other way is there to go about discussing music? Just out of curiosity. I mean, you're obviously going to have strong opinions on both sides of the fence, no matter what band/artist is being discussed.
|
REMEMBER, I'm fucking off 99.9999% of the time. I have good conversations about music on here I feel, I don't fall into the 'you're fucking bland/ironic/blahblahblah' nearly as much as I used to.
For the record, I don't pretend I'm not a hipster, though. I'm so fucking trendfuck it's disgusting. |

I'm also wondering why some of the posters on this thread are complaining about the lack of a music discussion on here, when a quick run through their posts shows a continuous mantra of ''the best'', ''the worst'', ''my favourite'', ''I don't like it'' etc. Not exactly fertile ground for interesting music discussion. |
