Do you have any more information about this (for example is it album and is it coming in vinyl also)?

It is available to order via Sunburned Hand Of The Man's mailing list (though orders placed these days wouldn't be processed until May 16th, when John Moloney gets back from touring), it's a cassette tape edition limited to 200 copies, and there isn't any clue which would lead to think it will be released on wax as well. This is the information about the tape as they provided it through Sunburned Hand Of The Man's e-mail:

THURSTON MOORE / JOHN MOLONEY - FUNDAMENTAL SUNSHINE - MH129 - c40 cassette
$10 USA / $11 Canada / $14 EUROPE / AUSTRALIA postpaid
'Thurston & John bring the war in scorching guitar and drum overview of their March 2012 duo tour of Holland, Belgium & France. a jump cut edit of their entire sweat-soaked tour is presented here in 40 minutes of trench warfare. heavy free punk, jazz and riff attack. the first recording of this new unit with more to come!' first edition of 200.

thanx! I have c-cassette player, but I think I will not order this. You know the vinyl is the greatest passion of me.

YAY!

hipster_bebop_junkie 05.24.2012 06:58 PM

Painting Soldiers, from Brooklyn, New York, have a new record out, "Wet Woods", produced by Lee Ranaldo; currently available at their live shows only.

As for Thurston, there are clues out there which might suggest there's something going on, perhaps some rehearsals at least, with the current line-up of the most recent tour, but with a kind of new moniker. I can't wait for official news in regards to this.

hipster_bebop_junkie 05.25.2012 06:27 PM

Finally received my copy of "Eight Trails, One Path" today (or rather I went to pick it up from the post office myself). Loving every minute of it. Well done, Three Lobed Recordings (and everyone involved)!

By the way, if anybody missed out on the vinyl, this compilation is also available in various digital formats at bandcamp for a very reasonable price, or just for streaming if that's your thing:

I just received mine this morning... Other unrelated things I got were my Bill Nace & Greg Kelley/Matt Krefting tape (which I ordered about two weeks ago and I'm sort of surprised it arrived so fast), and my copy of Michael Gira's book, "Michael Gira: Eight Stories", which arrived pretty damaged... I've been waiting for Thurston Moore's "By The Lighswitch" for a long while, but it seems I gotta order another copy if I want to read it. I've lost hopes it will make it here.

Anyway, I've e-mailed John Moloney in the past with some questions strictly and reasonable related to business. He sometimes just doesn't reply and you just have to live with some doubts, or he does take some time to get back to you. In any case, I received my tape even though the postal service here sucks hairy ass, and I hope you get yours soon.

Bump.

Plus Instruments' "Februari-April '81" can now be ordered directly from Truus de Groot if you are in the USA:

According to The Guardian, there's a collaborative album by Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, and Yoko Ono due to be released in September:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesi...ic-youth-video

"Early In The Morning" is now out. Wondering if someone bought it in digital format at Chimera Music's website? If so, can you please inform me if they offer the option to purchase it in lossless quality as .FLAC files? I ordered a physical copy from Kung Fu that has just been shipped recently, and thus I suppose it will take a while to arrive, so I might just spend two bucks on the digital thing if it's not just a piece of .MP3 crap 'cause I really want to hear this now.

I have the 2 disc version:

disc 1 - Sunburned in London, England at Cafe Oto - line-up is Paul Labrecque, John Moloney, Keith Wood and special guests Thurston Moore (reading & guitar), Samara Lubelski - violin, Mary Lattimore - piano, Aaron Mullan & Dave Mies (aka Tall Firs) - guitars. 38 minutes of readings mixed with some white hot psych.

disc 2 - Sunburned w/ Byron Coley - in orbit - this one is a hometown gig at feeding tube records featuring moloney, capistran, oshea, schneiderman, wood, pizzoferrato, ted lee(egg, eggs / zebu) jeremy pisani - one side of the was tight boogie psych and the other side was an outer-space synth squad with a juiced up Byron Coley (rock & poetry writer extraordinaire - forced exposure, the wire, spin, arthur, NO WAVE book) reading the poetry of Sun Ra - really amazing trip. this came out as a cassette on feeding tube records but here it is remastered by keith wood for better fidelity.

cdr comes in a plastic sleeve with 2 inserts and a sticker.

I bought mine from Feeding Tube on Discogs. But it's limited to 113 copies, so I guess it will be very hard to find a copy.

Okay; taken care of. Hopefully they actually still have some in stock. I might as well pick up a copy here before it starts going for $60 on eBay and $260 on bloody Amazon (remember Mother Groundhog?) Cheers, Stu666.

Now, what about this Fractured Sunshine cassette drawn from the same sessions--is it still possible to track down a copy of that? Not that I'm overly fond of cassettes, mind you; still....
