I know Steve and Trasher (I almost wrote Lee, but then 'Steve and Lee' would have sounded too SY) will enjoy a good old rarely-seen picture of Cat Power, so I will be posting one here.

You know me too well.

Inhuman 02.07.2007 01:19 PM

what's up y'all.

Man, I'm so bored. I just spent the last 3 hours working on Groundwater and reading up on PHP/MySQL. I created the Groundwater MySQL database, and now I just have to fix up the scripting and test it out and see how it works. Then I can really get digging on getting it up and ready for reviews!

Let me know how the haircuts go Joel and Danny haha

finding nobody 02.07.2007 01:29 PM

Buzzed my shit last night. Feels nice

I actually get it completely free now. At least for a year. One of the other students of my school wanted me to design a layout for his anime site, so I did so. I need to fix it a little bit though. http://www.theanimeconnection.net/ . In return, he gave me free hosting, MySQL Database, and 20 email addresses for a year, and each month after that $5.00 a month. Pretty sweet!

I'll give people accounts as soon as possible too. I'm working on it all tonight when I get home :)

finding nobody 02.07.2007 02:44 PM

School bans Mother's Day

A school headteacher is under fire for banning pupils from making Mother's Day cards to avoid upsetting children without a mother.

Helen Starkey, 46, fears the time-honoured tradition of making a Mother's Day card at school could be seen as insensitive. As a result, the headteacher of Johnstown Primary School, in Carmarthen, west Wales, simply banned pupils from making cards.

Mrs Starkey claims she has nothing against Mother's Day, which falls on March 18 this year, but would not allow pupils to make cards during lessons. "More than 5% of children here are separated from their birth mother and have either no contact or no regular contact with their mother," she said in a statement. "These include children who are bereaved, children whose parents are separated and are not domiciled with their mothers, and children who have been removed from parental care by statutory bodies. In all of our dealings with these children, we have to exercise great sensitivity." She added: "This decision was not taken because of any philosophical attitude towards the celebration of Mothering Sunday, but to protect a significant number of children in our school."

But the decision has come in for strong criticism. The move was branded as "ridiculous" by one angry parent who has accused her of being insensitive to the majority of youngsters at the 357-pupil school, while another parent, who did not wish to be named, said: "It means 95% of the children have not got an opportunity to make a card. I take issue with the fact that Mothering Sunday is a Christian festival and Mrs Starkey is not allowing children to celebrate in the way they know how."

Hip Priest 02.08.2007 10:01 AM

Whilst Mother's day is of course little more than a conceit created to sell cards, it's still nice for children to make a gift for their mum and think of how lucky they are to have a nice family. The above story represents another facet of normal, pleasant society that is being destroyed by people who don't deserve to have a responsible role in that society in the first place.

I got chrysostomos tomorrow.
Should be interesting. We have to go as bodyguards.

Hip Priest 02.08.2007 02:30 PM

I want some coffee.
