here's an example of a party planned via facebook...

i planned a 20 year punk rock "scene" reunion back in june. it spanned high school graduates from about 1985 - 1991. there were a few of those people that i didn't know, but via facebook we could find them all (or find someone who still talked to them). and everyone made it to the party.. from as far away as cali, NJ and georgia. it was also helpful because you could RSVP via facebook or RSVP for someone else. it gave skeptical people the incentive to attend because they could see who was actually coming. you wouldn't get that with email, written invites or the phone.

yep, I know how that works, but my point is:

if

you have friends
and they have facebook
and they have similar interests to yours
and they all go to a nice party "organized on facebook" they know you'd be interested in
and they know you don't have facebook

then:
I suppose they'd call you to let you know about the party/event/wathever...

oh yeah. totally. we'd call them if we knew how to get hold of them, but if we didn't... we could find someone else via facebook who did know how to get hold of them. so no... people aren't rejected without a facebook. haha.

here's a nice facebook story.

there was this girl that i friended on facebook to invite her to the party. she was the only one that i friended that i didn't already know. i knew of her back in the day, but she was 2 years older than me, so we never had class together. we started talking ON FACEBOOK at night because we thought each other were hilarious. we made plans to meet up on the coming friday. i asked her where she lived... she told me... i told her around where i lived... she said "oh that's funny because i lived in the **hundred block of ****. i sat there for a second because i live at the **05 block of **** which would be REALLY close to where she just said... then it was like BAM. i said "YOU'RE TINA. LINDA'S DAUGHTER." (linda was my next door neighbor for 9 years). she said "oh my god, you're jennifer.. jake's mom". and we've hung out every friday and saturday night since may. she lived with her mom for a year and then lived 4 houses up for 4 years. floating used to try to get me to go talk to her because he thought "we looked like we would get along". i never did. i should have.

there are people i don't want to talk to and people i do want to talk to.

you lose touch when everyone gets married and has kids. it was nice.

i didn't go to my 20 year high school reunion which was the same weekend. we planned it like that. it was the anti-reunion.
