I'm still infatuated with the 90's - even by many of the things that most of you would consider putrid.

In particular, I'm a big fan of the late 90's. The alternative culture was just so nihilistic, and PISSED. You'd have to dig really deep to find that much careless angst in today's modern teenagers/twenty-somethings, who live in a very politically correct, and environmentally friendly world (at least here in the US).

The 90's also gave birth to some amazing video games, including my 2 favorite consoles of all time, the Super Nintendo and the SEGA Dreamcast. 90's comics are also of much higher quality than they'll ever get credit for, and cheaper than all hell.

AND WHO THE FUCK GVES A FLYING FUCK ABOUT SINGLES?!

What about Clerks, Swingers, Reality Bites, and Pulp Fiction?

Technology aside; I love my laptop, hi-speed internet, digital camcorder, and MP3 player to death, I'd much rather live in the 90's than now. I feel like I would 'fit in' better... but that could just be my rose-tinted glasses talking..... I guess..... pffft.

Was Courtney the Yoko of the 90s? Artist in her own right? Or untalented? Guilty as charged? Or scapegoat?

White Stripes/Strokes and some of those other garage rock revival bands.

The Chapelle Show - "I'm Rich Bitch".

Sonic Youth were still kicking ass.

Outkast - at the top of their game acummalating/concluding with "Hey Yall" Speakerboxx/The Love Below.

Southern Hip Hop was King - made me appreciate at lot of old music believe it or not.

Daft Punk.

Lots of reissue albums by bands i loved and could actually find in a record store.

Free Downloads were something new and exciting. heard a lot of great new and old music.

A lot of mainstream Pop and Hip Hop/RnB songs that i actually liked.

Great mainstream movies

Animal Collective were the shit and mind blowing. now every commercial advertisment has an animal collective wannabe playng in the background.

The cell phone and texting phenomenon.

Noise Rock and Noise Music in general - like Lighting Bolt and Wolf Eyes and many others. even though i wasn't a big fan of the latter, but still lots of great shit coming out as far as noise goes.

Better fashion.

Making fun of George Bush and his Bushisms.:D

just a lot of great music that came out during this time and my favorite time period for music. the 90's were kinda lame.

....then the economy tanked and now everything is FUCKING SHIT!!!!!!!:( 2009 to 2012 has been . a least for me. i'm all for moving on but the last four years have been shit. ugh, reminds me of the late 90's. so bbbooorrrring.

I'm enjoying your mind slowly falling apart so publicly.

Didn't music get a bit shit in the 90s?

The 80s had greatness, the 2000s have had some great stuff. The only music I listened to in the 90s that I would call really good was a lot of techno and I bought some great hardcore punk 7" singles.

Other than that it was shit.

I may be generalising a tad (they were shit too).
