That's a nice idea, actually, we could set up a simple blogspot page and host the files somewhere to be ready to download without using badongo and stuff like that... How big are the files danny? All mp3s or there are also wav files?

Yeah I'm so totally confident Nic haahhah... naah, it's just that there's other SY tribute compilations floating around the net, and it would be cool to have our own out there!

If you ask me, everyone should send the file in .wav quality so that if someone wanna get it on cd, we could just do it. But also to have every song on 128 / 192 kbps to put on the site would be great...

Was even the idea of a cd with cover art and stuff considered?

I say, please, mp3s only at 192kbps or better...128 is really too low in my opinion, higher frequencies are so crashed it hurts...dunno.

So far, most of the contributions have been in mp3 format, but in good quality. There has been a couple of wavs I think. There is one track in particular I may need to reject because the recording seems to be.. well I won't give the secret away..

A blogspot page would be very nice, if someone could host the recordings. The files aren't too big, around 3.5MB each... except the wav file which is 60MB.

Of course not. But until I announce one, I want people to stop asking me. This thing will go on for as long as it takes.

I think each volume of the project will be 40 minutes long. In which case, we are almost finished with volume one. Then the submissions after that will be in volume two. And so on.

I did guitars, vocals and drums for SCREAMING SKULL. I think Chout is a bit busy right now but he hopefully will be in. I think hosting the mp3s won't be a problem, we could have them available in one site and put all the wave files (for those who'd like to have a cd quality thingie) in a sharing site like yousendit or such.

I wanna see Nic doing art! And also, I was wondering if we could ask the sonics themselves, via Mr Habib or Lawrence, if hosting of the mp3s would be possible on the official site...

That would be very nice to have it all hosted here, if the project gets big enough.

Hàlò dudes and gals, we (Danny and I) are setting up that blogsite thing. I suggest all the guys who already contributed a finished track (that will most likely be included in the vol.1) to pm us some infos (dunno, myspace page or something) to add along with your username on there (I suppose we'll "use" usernames since it's a SY Gossip thing, but considering many of you also have a "real" name and a band/myspace page/email etc. give us what you'd like to add). That's all folks. We'll keep you updated.

Danny is the one who has the files, you should ask him, but I think there's no rush at all, I suppose you could easily fit on the Vol. 1 by finishing in a few days, no problem at all.

Oh, yes, everything you want. Just pm me what you want to be there for the people to click on. Since I think it would be nice to leave the username on here as credit for the songs (it's a SY gossip tribute, after all) myspace links/sites links with your "normal" stuff are much more informative for those interested in hearing more. IF needed I'll add the band name if some boarder worked with his pals to record the cover. No images received yet, please send them too, I'll handle resize and stuff if you don't feel like doing it yourselves..

It's up to you. I'd like to add a little (200x200 or something similar) pic/image for everyone, you can choose what, a pic of your pretty (hmmm...:rolleyes:) faces or any other image of your choice.

Well, guys, we can always add single tracks on the blog as soon as you record them, and then collect them in a "vol.2" when we reach the critical 45 minutes running time. It's not a "strict" thing at all, we simply wanted to have something done and finished without waiting nobodyknowshowlongfor. I'm working on a song myself, and it won't be in the "Vol.1", go figure :) .
Furthermore, if chabib will make this thread sticky, maybe new gossip members will know about this even without bumping the thread periodically, and contribute their covers to keep this thing alive. I know this is kinda "utopia-style" way of thinking, but I assure you that if you feel like doing a cover it won't be wasted.

I hope this thing will gain popularity once the first volume is done. We're nearing the 40 minute mark.
