Bam Oida!

This Is Not Here 02.11.2009 12:16 PM

The full line-up/schedule is being announced on the 6th of March, right?

towerhamlets 02.12.2009 12:04 PM

If anyone sees extra tickets released somewhere for Dusseldorf or has an extra ticket, please let me know! I waited too long to order mine because I wasn't sure when my finals were. :(

There's still no news on how to get tickets for Munich, right?

towerhamlets 02.15.2009 10:06 AM

Bumping this thread, just in case someone knows about Munich.

Also, for anyone going Munich-Dusseldorf, is it cheaper taking the train or RyanAir? RA has some amazing deals on right now...

This Is Not Here 02.15.2009 11:52 AM

Go to the Austria gig like myself. It's like 50 quid for 4 days of music, and only 60 quid return from Gatwick-Vienna. Seriously worth going to Donau if you're going to go the effort of flying out to mainland Europe.

pokkeherrie 02.15.2009 12:04 PM

Donau Festival is starting to look pretty decent with Mirror/Dash, The Raincoats, No-Neck Blues Band...

Bal 02.15.2009 12:52 PM

greenlight 02.15.2009 02:54 PM

by the way it is bit confusing, they are saying weekend 1 and weekend 2. 22nd. April is not really weekend, isn´t it? hopefully SY are playing on 22nd., coz I need to sort out my time off in work..

by the way Slavo, there´s also shuttle buss from Viena for a tenner, but I think train would be better option...I mean more comfortable option.

YES! I'll see them then, brilliant! I can only stay for the first two days of the first weekend, so SY and M/D on the wednesday, then the butthole surfers the day after.

train is way better I guess. had tried both possibilities before and the train seemed much more comfortable, as you said.

looks like I'll need a couple of days off (wednesday, thursday and maybe even saturday). where are we gonna sleep, mate?

This Is Not Here 02.15.2009 05:39 PM

How long does the train journey take from Vienna to Krems, how often are trains, where do I get them from? So many questions. Can anyone help?

_slavo_ 02.15.2009 05:56 PM

you buy ticket at the main train station in Vienna (Sudbahnhof).
they go to Krems pretty often (every hour or so).
it takes around 2 hours to get to Krems.
we might arrange so that me and greenlight will pick you up at Sudbahnhof and we'll go together or something.

It sounds amazing, but I really can't cause I'd miss class and an exam. :( I've skivved off work and uni far too much for Thurston/Sonic Youth already...

Cool, thanks. I think I'm gonna get a ticket for Munich, and then see if I can work out a way to travel to Dusseldorf cheaply. Even if it's sold out, there's usually someone with a spare at the venue...

Sciving off uni is precisely what I'm doing to go to Austria. But as long as I come back with some sketches of Vienna I'm sure I shall be exused.

I do not mind staying in hostel or smth. at least you will have bit comfort after gigs. worst case scenario would be sleeping back outdoors huh? I will check prices of hostels tomorrow as it might be good book them in advance, coz they will be more expensive closer to festival date.

You're not planning to come over to Austria, blunderbuss?

blunderbuss 02.26.2009 06:11 AM

I can't - Life dictates that I must be sensible at the moment, and that means no foreign travelling to see SY.

Bal 02.26.2009 06:33 AM

how much are the tickets for the munich show

Hola,

it's been a while. I hope you're all fine.

Usually i just sleep in the car or in a tent in the park but if you guys are planning to travel to Vienna every night we could go together and stay at my place (not far from the Südbahnhof).
just an idea

oh, and slavo
don't know how busy you are right now, but there some great gigs in vienna next few month

Action Beat
Neptune
Wire
Pita
Ashtray Navigations
Zeni Geva
(forgot a few)

just so you can't say i didn't tell you :-)

[edit]
i already have tickets for the weekend
