Your shit's looking real cool too genteel. Like if Peter Max was not a hippie and instead listened to too much Naked City and Xiu Xiu.....

Antagony, that image reminds me of a modern Pettibon

Would one of you be interested in doing a mixtape artwork for me? The theme of the tape is: CANDY
Feel free to do what you want in regards to the imagery. It should be standard cassette tape inlay card size and your artwork can appear on one or both sides......don't forget to sign it! Post it here so I can print it. The tape I'm making is going to someone in Canada. PM me your mailing address and I will make two mixes and mail one to you. |

I personally still don't know what to make of my own sketches and doodles but I see this comparison as a great honor, thank you :) |
I've been planning to direct a short film for some time now. My problem is that I still haven't come up with a coherent plot, I just have some vague ideas. I really have to start this fucker soon though, I somehow feel obliged to do this. Right now all I have are some establishing shots from my recent trip to New York, which serve as a display of the visual potential of my rather cheap equipment (I'm trying to get the best out of what I have).

I like the people shit in yr portfolio. Nice to see that you've got your art going on. How are things in the art world? |
Thanks, I don't really know how things are in the art world, I've been out of it for so long and am only just starting to venture back in.

a general tip/sorta.
i think that if you want to have a vibrant red, you should have a (dried) yellow layer underneeth first. |
T&B, the art world is as caustic and cloying as ever. get your armor on my man!
|
In London the art world is mostly about money. Fuck being caustic or cloying.
|
Well, I do want to get paid, but I guess I'll find out how far I'm prepared to go to get that cash.

I have an EPs worth of new music, and if I finally get my ass motivated before the end of the summer I can get it recorded with this new band I've been jamming with. Its some really great shit, a culmination of everything I've been doing for the past ten years evolved in a natural progression. Yet, the question is sincerely if..

Best Of Luck. DO IT and do it TO IT

This is currently FNU Ronnies's profile picture on their FB page too. I'm pleased they liked it.

It has a name. It has six tracks. They have names and an assigned order the flows naturally and feels like the permanent selection, a spontaneous theme almost based on the overall sound. Been jamming with the new band more consistently, got to the recording rehearsals on the iphone stage of our bromance. Advantage? Their drummer is taking a paternity leave hiatus of one month to possibly infinity in a few weeks so if we can stay motivated with this side-project, we may just keep motivated enough with the additional time to record. The side-project started because bass player was out of town for several months, and this filled in the void. Bass player came back, side-project shelved. Now we been jamming with the bass player in the side-project, shit, I'VE NEVER WORKED WITH A BASS IN MY ORIGINAL MUSIC, this shit is sounding MAGICAL. I have to pause sometimes during jam sessions and just listen to that shit. Its brought out a more hip-hop sound to the drum work, essentially our two-piece was too heavy, and adding the bass has brought a more solid groove. I really hope we can stay motivated. I can't do this one solo like previous projects, too much of the drum work has come creatively from this drummer, and now the bass? I can't possible go Frank Zappa and do it all in the studio. Its now or never.. tbc...... |
Another FNU Ronnies-inspired work. It's again being used by them as their FB page avatar and I'm working out a way of producing a visual collaboration with Jim Veil from the band. Hopefully it's going to turn out good.
