Tottenham v Manchester City (semi-final one)

Ajax v Juventus (semi-final one)

Barcelona v Manchester United (semi-final two)

Liverpool v Porto (semi-final two)

Oof, that's gonna be a a test of OGS and Man Utd. Let's hope they can get their injured players back before then!

Is this Spurs' last realistic hope of a trophy?

Fucking Preston in the league below are a point off the play-offs. As expected my PNE supporting friends are currently more insufferable than Liverpool fans right now.

The penalty was initially saved, but one player got the tap-in to make it 3-3.
Then VAR showed he'd been inside the box originally.
So the penalty was retaken in the 99th.
And saved.

God I love the A-League.

How big is football/soccer in Australia? I'm assuming it's behind rugby and cricket but is it bigger than Aussie rules?

Nah, Australian football is much more popular. They used to play the old National Soccer League in winter, until they realised that they weren't getting anywhere. So we've played in summer since the 80s.

For plenty of people, the only time that it gets noticed is during the World Cup. That said, a fair few kids my age keep up with the Champions League and similar.

Until the late 90s, when the national team (the Socceroos, because of course) started being 'good', the joke was that the only people who played it were shielas, wogs, and poofters. But now plenty of juniors play it (I think it's actually the most popular sport in Tasmania, based on players).

Thre was a time around the late 80s/early 90s when they started showing Aussie rules on British TV. I loved it! Never quite understood what was going on but still. I wish they still showed it here.

who is “west ham” in this case

pellegrini? the players?

looks like chícharo earned his pay at last

demonrail666 03.16.2019 04:29 PM

It's a mentality that's been at the club for years. Certainly longer than Pellegrini, or even this generation of players. They play above themselves against superior opponents but barely turn up against the weaker ones.

h8kurdt 03.16.2019 04:35 PM

Gotta hand it to Wolves in this game

Haha! Yeah, it looks like a weird hybrid of about five different sports. But I've grown up with it and I love it.

I'm actually wearing a hoodie for the Western Bulldogs (my team) right now.

The men's season starts this Thursday if you're interested. They post highlights on the official website, but I don't know if they work overseas. I'll happily decode anything if you want :)
