Did you keep it in mind that the movie was intended to be a total comedy?
Yeah though, I was still mostly unimpressed with it. It had its moments, but it felt like the people that were going nuts over it were just desperate for something to like. Keep up with all the reviews though people, I've been having such a good time. Bad biology, the beyond (not from beyond), body melt....such great amazing films. I have a list THIS __________________LONG (imagine seeing that from a dream within a dream, the list would be years long), of stuff I've been meaning to watch from this thread. |
you're welcome, ms. course

What would I do without you ?
Rot in mud, rot in mud, rot in mud I'd rot in mud. |

If finances weren't so tight, I'd likely go see Scott Pilgrim again
|
![]() 5/10 I wanted to love this... I really did. It was excellent at evoking a mood, and atmosphericlly brilliant, but the movie itself made very little sense, classic example of a well made movie that where not everything came together correctly. Maybe I need to watch it again. |

I saw this, with Bruce Campbell presenting it, in theaters, many years ago. Met Bruce. Too bad the movie is... kinda.. uhhh... SCOTT PILGRIM!! MOVIE OF THE YEAR!! |
Attempting to make it through I Know Who Killed Me.

Couldn't sleep at all last night and AMC showed this horrible low budget horror movie called The Funhouse. Horrible stuff. I'm not really a fan of that type of film in the first place unless it falls in the "so bad it's funny" category (Friday The 13th movies, Nightmare On Elm Street, Puppet Master, etc), but Funhouse was just so bad. I can't believe people gush all over it on IMDB.
You could literally chop the first forty minutes of the film out and flash some text of "They're teenagers having fun at an eerie carnival" and the movie would be exactly the same. ~Jeremy~ |

attempting? It's a great fucking movie. |
![]() 5/10 Nowhere near as good as Noise Reductions would have you believe, but nowhere near as bad as critics would have you believe. Its a somewhat underrated movie that just sort of falls apart by the end. extra half a point or so for the lohan stripper scenes |
Yeah, I Know Who Killed Me is really good...
ridiculous but good.. it's one big giallo tribute, and since I'm the biggest giallo fan in the world.... well.. I dug it. |
^yup. A way better movie than the idiotic public and mainstream critics could grasp.
And definitely better than a 5/10! I'd give it like a 8/10 probably. |
I was gonna give it a 7, but by the end I felt it had fallen flat.
|
![]() 7/10. Woah, I did not expect something this dark... This movie has some really funny parts but Seth Rogen's character is really depressing and it gets really serious in the end. I would say it's pretty weird for a Seth Rogen comedy: the directing is weird, the character's behavior is weird... Good movie nonetheless. |
thanks for the props for Scott P. I'm taking my kids at 4:30 today.

it's at least a 7. And an 8 if yr a LaLoFan. |
![]() A decent movie, with the underlying humor that can be likened to that X-Files episode Jose Chung's From Outer Space. The content of the plot is enough to keep someone engaged. And Kelsey Grammer is hilarious. But towards the end the film kind of begins to get a little uninteresting or you just don't feel as invested anymore. So sure, it's ok, plenty of cool people in it. And you won't regret seeing it if you were to watch it. But I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to anyone. |
